Now we are going to go down a rabbit hole that involves Guy Bannister AND another figure from the JFK saga…Jack Martin.
Both of these men will tie into our “UFO” discussions!!

Jack Martin lived in New Orleans, and was a private detective who was friends with both Guy Banister and David Ferrie.

On the afternoon of 22nd November 22nd, 1963…the day of JFK’s assassination, Martin and Banister went drinking together.
On their return to Banister's office the two men got involved in a dispute about a “missing file”.

Banister became so angry that he he drew his Magnum revolver and hit Martin with it several times. Martin was so badly injured that he had to be detained in the local Charily Hospital.

This scene was depicted in the movie JFK.

There was a “Special Agent Jack S. Martin” who appeared on Project Blue Book documents dating back to 1949.

This particular Jack S. Martin had been working for the OSI, or Office of Special Investigations…a department of the US Air Force.

This same Jack S. Martin had been investigating UFO sightings in Northern California.

Was this the same Jack Martin that was friends with Guy Banister??

Digging deeper into Guy Banister…

FBI Special Agent Guy Banister had been assigned to the Butte, Montana field office in 1947…during the time of famous “ufo sightings” such as Roswell, The Maury Island incident, and the Arnold sighting.

Declassified FBI files for that period in 1947 show a number of telexes from Banister…all pertained to UFO phenomena.

These FBI documents were designated as: Security Matter X…or simply SM-X.

Some believe these UFO documents designated as SM X was the basis for the “X-Files.”

Banister’s time in Butte put him in the middle of UFO activity that was occurring during this time.

The story keeps getting more weird.

Digging deeper into Jim Garrison…

Jim Garrison, the New Orleans District Attorney who prosecuted Clay Shaw for the murder of JFK…was also working for the FBI in 1947!!

Jim Garrison was stationed in the Northwest during the UFO wave!!

So Bannister was in Montana working with UFO sightings and Jim Garrison was stationed in the next state over in Washington also working for the FBI.

Was it possible they knew each other before the JFK’s assassination?

What are the chances??

Given that both Garrison and Guy Bannister were FBI agents in 1947, wouldn’t Banister have swapped stories with Garrison about his flying saucer encounter that happened in 1947?

Did Banister and Garrison talk about the Maury Island incident that occurred in Garrison’s neck of the woods when he was an FBI agent in Tacoma?

Did Garrison have access to the complete file on the Maury Island incident, and its investigation by Kenneth Arnold and Emil Smith?

The “Maury Island” incident involved a ufo sighting off the coast of Maury Island in Puget Sound, in the state of Washington.

We know Guy Bannister was ex-FBI and investigated UFO sighting reports during his time in Butte, Montana.

Some of the FBI’s older files, were labeled SM-X or Security Matter X.
Like the X-Files, these files dealt with strange topics.
