LIFE released those missing frames from the first-generation copy it had received from the film's original version.

Remember this was a copy!

Frames 155–157 and
Frame 341, were also damaged.

They were spliced out of the original rendition of the film…but are present in the copies.

What about New Orleans District Attorney, Jim Garrison’s trial against Clay Shaw in 1969? (Think of the movie JFK).
What film did he use?

Garrison subpoened the original film…but was denied.

A copy of the film…made several generations from the original (a copy of a copy of the original)…was subpoenaed and granted from Time Inc.

The courtroom showing of GARRISON’s copy in 1969 was the first time the Zapruder film had been shown in public as a film.

Garrison allowed copies of the film to be made…and these low quality copies began circulating among assassination researchers.

On March 6, 1975, on the ABC late-night television show Good Night America (hosted by Geraldo Rivera), assassination researchers Robert Groden and Dick Gregory presented the first-ever US network television showing of the Zapruder Film.

This was 11 1/2 years after the assassination!!

People were outraged!!

Yesterday we left off talking about the Zapruder film. We disclosed that the first time all of America saw the film was on the Geraldo Rivera show…nearly 12 years after the assassination.

Today we are going to reveal even more shocking information that revolves around this film!!

During the Geraldo Rivera reveal of the Zapruder film in 1973, the shocking revelation of Kennedy's head going backward and to the left resulted in a public outcry so great that Congress created the House Select Committee on Assassinations two years later.

Until a few years ago, the authenticity and reliability of the Zapruder film was accepted by almost all JFK assassination researchers…even those who were very critical of the Warren Report.

But given what we now know with the editing, splicing, duplicating, and removing of frames in the Zapruder film…would you trust it now??

After today’s presentation, NO ONE SHOULD!!

Most Americans don’t know that there were two significant events…involving the famous Zapruder film of President Kennedy’s Assassination…that took place on back-to-back nights, at the CIA’s National Photographic Interpretation Center (NPIC) in Washington, D.C….the weekend immediately following JFK’s assassination.

Two question we ALL need to be asking ourselves…

Is the Zapruder film…which currently resides in the National Archives…an authentic film from which sound, scientific conclusions, regarding JFK’s assassination, can be obtained??

…OR…

Is the Zapruder film an altered film..indicative of a government cover-up, filled with tainted and suspect information?

If so, would this have lead us to false conclusions, about what happened in Dealey Plaza during JFK’s assassination?

The debate of these questions hinge on the answers to two essential questions:

1. First, is the film’s chain of custody…immediately after the assassination…what it has been reported on all these years? Or…is it quite different? 

2. Second, are there visual indications within the film’s imagery which prove it has been tampered with or altered?

If the film’s chain of custody has been misrepresented all this time, and if the opportunity and means existed that weekend to alter the film…then the repercussions of this film and the conclusions we have drawn regarding JFK’s assassination…is far reaching.

Additionally, the original ZAPRUDER film was altered that weekend…prior to the publication of any of the film’s frames in LIFE magazine, and prior to its use by the Warren Commission.

We will discuss later in presentation.

As we discussed, the ZAPRUDER film was withheld from the American public for nearly 12 years.

The first opportunity Americans had to see it was on Mar. 6, 1975, when a bootleg copy of the film was broadcast on nationwide TV on ABC’s “Goodnight America” show, hosted by Geraldo Rivera.

After the uproar about the film’s 12-year suppression as a motion picture, TIME Inc/LIFE MAGAZINE decided to rid itself of the albatross, and sold the Zapruder film…and all the rights…back to Abraham Zapruder’s heirs for one dollar on April 9, 1975.

The legal status of the Zapruder film then became uncertain with the passage of the “President John F. Kennedy Assassination Records Collection Act” on October 26, 1992,
