Jeffrey Epstein said MARCO RUBIO was the one who Originally Funded the Steele Dossier to Michael Wolff

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that’s just dumb. And he likely is extending by association Paul Singer’s involvement to Rubio.

Hedge Fund billionaire Paul Singer funded the Washington Free Beacon, which initially hired Fusion GPS for opposition research on Trump and other GOP candidates during the 2016 primaries.

Singer was a major backer of Rubio's presidential campaign at the time (and a vocal Trump critic), so Epstein probably jumped to the shorthand conclusion: Singer backed Rubio → Rubio (or his side) funded the early research that preceded the dossier.

🔻Late 2015 – Spring 2016:
Washington Free Beacon (conservative outlet, primarily funded by GOP donor Paul Singer) hires Fusion GPS for oppo research on multiple Republican candidates, including Trump. This is the original/initial funding phase; no Steele involved yet.

🔻April 2016:
Free Beacon ends its Fusion GPS contract (as Trump becomes presumptive nominee); they state no knowledge of or involvement in later work.

🔻April–June 2016 onward:
Fusion GPS is hired by Perkins Coie (law firm for Hillary Clinton's campaign and the DNC), who fund the continuation—including subcontracting former British spy Christopher Steele to produce the Russia-focused memos that become known as the Steele dossier.

🔻October 2017:
Media reports publicly reveal the Free Beacon/Singer origins; Free Beacon confirms but insists zero connection to Steele/dossier.

🔻Later investigations(Mueller, Durham, congressional probes): Confirm the two-phase funding—no direct Rubio, campaign, or Singer link to the actual dossier.

In SHORT, the original funder of the broader research effort by Fusion GPS that preceded and set the stage for the dossier was The Washington Free Beacon (backed by Paul Singer). But the specific Steele-authored dossier was funded by the Clinton campaign and the DNC via Perkins Coie.

Rubio has been solid as a rock.
