Factors influencing the trend
Factors influencing the trend are schemes that recognise womenโs agency, the impact of womenโs movements and civil society organisations, campaigning by political parties, migration of male members of families, and family and peer influences. โPeople in general and women in particular from lower economic and working-class backgrounds, both in rural and urban areas, show keen interest to vote. Affinity with a particular political party over generations also influences voting percentage. Though political parties make promises in their manifestos and implement various schemes, women decide their vote on the basis of their own analyses, independently, which they do not reveal to their family members,โ said Manimekalai.

Nearly 30 lakh workers die every year globally due to work-related accidents and diseases, according to a new report prepared by the International Labour Organization (ILO). More than 63% of these deaths are reported from the Asia-Pacific region.
Exposure to long working hours (55 hours or more per week) was the biggest โkillerโ, with almost 7.45 lakh people dying of it in 2016, followed by exposure to occupational particulate matter, gases, and fumes (4.5 lakh deaths) and occupational injuries (3.63 lakh deaths).
The report, titled โA Call for Safer and Healthier Working Environmentsโ, will be discussed at the 23rd World Congress on Safety and Health at Work, one of the largest international conferences on this subject, which began in Sydney on November 27. Citing the data on the fatal occupational injury rate, the report said mining and quarrying, construction, and utilities sectors were the three most hazardous sectors globally.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has the potential to radically alter almost all spheres of human life. This is because it allows for quick processing of vast amounts of data and makes predictions or decisions that would be otherwise rather impossible for humans to do in a reasonable amount of time. AI holds the potential to substantially improve efficiency, accuracy, and safety in many fields beyond human capabilities. But is that enough?
To maximise the benefits of AI while minimising the risks, it is important for stakeholders like business magnates, technologists, policymakers, and society as a whole to consider the ethical implications of AI and ensure that it is developed and used responsibly.

AI also poses several dangers, such as the potential for bias and discrimination if the data used to train AI systems, made by humans themselves, is not diverse or representative of all populations. There is also the risk of job loss as AI takes over tasks previously performed by humans. Additionally, there are widespread concerns about AI being used for malicious purposes, such as cyber attacks or weapon-building and spreading misinformation.

There was another such experiment conducted in Russia.
A model was asked to pose like a dummy(stay still like a statue) in a shopping mall. A sign board was put up that Anyone could do/say anything to her...and she won't respond...
Many people approached her...
Some people gave her a compliment, hugged her, told her a joke, made her smile
But many many more tried to touch her inappropriately ...passed sexual remarks and some even kissed her forcefully...mocked her laughed at her etc
Then the model was told to approach the ppl who behaved inappropriately with her...
Most people avoided her..didn't even look at her in the eye..pretended they didn't do/ say anything ..basically avoided any responsibility for their actions.
This experiment proved that If given a free hand...without any external control or fear of punishment...people would reveal their evil side..wud do the abominable .. avoid responsibility
And go about there life as if they never did anything wrong.

๐ต The Political Economy of Curricula in Higher Education Institutions | Economic and Political Weekly
https://www.epw.in/journal/2023/47/commentary/political-economy-curricula-higher-education.html
Three years of the implementation of the National Education Policy 2020 have witnessed several regulations and guidelines by the University Grants Commission regarding changes in the curriculum. It is important to examine the implications of these curricular changes. It is noted that the curriculum, instead of evolving through scientific inquiry, is influenced by the ideology of the state and the market.
By the โpolitical economyโ of the curriculum, I mean the curiosity-based scientific basis of determining or designing the curriculum for students. It is decided through a critical examination of knowledge for the benefit of the general public at large, reflecting the aims of public education. The curriculum is determined by subject experts and the state plays a role in providing legitimacy to the whole process of curriculum design and its delivery to the students. However, if the influence of political power dominates curriculum design instead of scientific inquiry, it leads to a curriculum that is corrupted by ideology. It is important to understand the directions of change in curriculum design which are influenced by market forces rather than the interests of the people and the nation. Curriculum design is also shaped by the extent of academic freedom. If academic freedom is compromised, then the process of knowยญledge generation itself gets mutilated.

Certainly accommodations must have been made for group members who were sick, recovering from childbirth or otherwise temporarily incapacitated. But pregnancy, lactation, child-rearing and menstruation are not permanently disabling events, as researchers found among the living Agta of the Philippines who continue to hunt during these life periods.
Suggesting that the female body is only designed to gather plants ignores female physiology and the archaeological record. To ignore the evidence perpetuates a myth that only serves to bolster existing power structures.
P. S. This is an interesting take on the sexual division of labour in the hunting and food gathering society.

The myth that female reproductive capabilities somehow render them incapable of gathering any food products beyond those that cannot run away does more than just underestimate Paleolithic women. It feeds into narratives that the contemporary social roles of women and men are inherent and define our evolution. Our Paleolithic ancestors lived in a world where everyone in the band pulled their own weight, performing multiple tasks. It was not a utopia, but it was not a patriarchy.
