As an OBGYN Resident, I envision a future where, instead of relying on ACOG, RCOG, or Parkland Hospital, we will have our own ECOG (ESOG's), updated annually with links to our own lecture videos for each topic.
This concept wouldnโt be limited to ECOG alone; it would extend to the Ethiopian Society of Internal Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, & all other specialties .
Becoming a specialist or subspecialist shouldn't mean bringing an overwhelming amount of foreign resources that only cause confusion among students. Instead, it should involve adapting the materials you study to local research & creating our own books & videos. This is how we should evaluate specialists & subspecialistsโby their ability to contribute to this cause.
