Medicine is as much an art as it is a science. As an Ophthalmologist, my artistic background has significantly enhanced my observational skills, which are crucial when working with the small, intricate, & complex structure of the eye. As a Retina subspecialist, art has enabled me to identify patterns that improve my diagnostic capabilities during routine clinical examinations & through various imaging techniques of the retina.

Additionally, as a Retina surgeon, my artistic skills 've refined my fine motor abilities essential for performing microscopic surgeries.Moreover, art enriches my practice by fostering compassion, empathy & a holistic approach to patient care.

It also serves as a personal hobby & a therapeutic outlet when I feel overwhelmed/stressed.

As a newly graduated Radiologist, specializing in Radiology has allowed me to blend medicine & art seamlessly.

As we know, our diagnostic tool is imaging. Making a diagnosis by analyzing an image demands precision, skilled hands, & experienced eyes.

Since childhood, I 've been drawing pictures of images from books or people on TV. Over time, my painting skills improved. I would draw images exactly as I saw them, capturing every detail, including lines, shadows, & curves. My artistic inclination led me to specialize in radiology after completing my undergraduate medical studies. Art significantly enhanced my ability to excel in my profession, as drawing had already made my hands dexterous & my eyes keen observers.

I advise my fellow Drs & young medical students to recognize & develop their talents, as art can greatly enhance a physician's career.
