Jeg tenkte at det var en selvmordsaksjon, jeg trodde ikke jeg skulle overleve 22. juli.

I thought it was a suicide attempt, I didn't think I would survive the 22nd of July.

Breivik sa han regnet med at det var «fem prosent sannsynlighet» for at han skulle overleve angrepet i Regjeringskvartalet.

Breivik said he reckoned there was a "five percent probability" that he would survive the attack in the Government Quarter.

Det er tross alt Norges best bevoktede bygninger. Men så overlevde jeg ikke bare det, jeg overlevde Utøya også.

Like etter at han ble pågrepet på Utøya 22. juli, kom han med en rekke krav til politiet. Blant dem var at det skulle innføres dødsstraff og såkalt waterboarding, vanntortur, i Norge.
