a16z crypto has been buying tokens worth 8 & 9 figures recently. These are top names that did airdrops in last few years and their prices have suffered from the brutal state of liquidity in alts. So, a16z crypto seems to be buying up what appear to be locked…
This is/was worth keeping an eye on.
I remember buying $SOL at $30-35 in mid-2021 after a16z's announcement of 9 figure investment in it iirc.
Unique tech + competitive advantage + lack of hacks/exploits + actual product usage = pmf-powered growth story/narrative
LayerZero has good chance of performing well in the future.

private token sales make sense because gaining new & sticky users is challenging for new projects. same set of airdrop farmers are using these projects and abandoning most after airdrop and tge.
venture investments have moved a lot towards crypto equiities as there is broader lack of liquidity in the altcoin space and most projects are not performing well after tge.
all this has led to some quality tokens trading at valuations which are considered 'cheap' during bull markets. we call them 'gems'.
so, there might be a play here.
