🚓 Illegal crypto mining is on the rise in Tajikistan and Kazakhstan.

🇹🇯 In Tajikistan, damages to the power grid reached $3.52 million in the first half of 2025, with dozens of mining setups uncovered and several criminal cases opened.

🇰🇿 In Kazakhstan, power company employees illegally supplied mining farms for two years, causing $16.5 million in damages; the organizer’s property was confiscated.

Mining is legal in both countries but tightly regulated due to its strain on the energy system.

🇹🇭 On August 18, Thailand will launch TouristDigiPay, a service allowing foreign visitors to convert cryptocurrency into Thai baht and pay online via QR code.

To use it, tourists must have an account with a licensed provider and complete KYC. The initiative will be introduced by Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Pichai Chunhavajira.
