Everton are in preliminary talks with Monaco over United States men’s national team striker Folarin Balogun.

The Athletic reported in June that the 25-year-old was expected to leave Monaco this summer, with no talks having taken place regarding a contract extension.

Liverpool are advancing in a deal to sign goalkeeper Lucca Brughmans from Belgian side Genk.

The expectation is that the deal will happen, with an agreement nearing for Liverpool to pay a fixed fee of around €33m (£28.3m; $38.3m) and €2m more due in potential add-ons.
