Fenerbahce have completed the signing of Romelu Lukaku from Napoli on a permanent deal.

Injury issues last season limited Lukaku to just seven club appearances, but he did feature in all six games as Belgium reached the quarter-final stage of this summer’s World Cup, where he scored three goals.

Dusan Vlahovic has agreed to join Besiktas as a free agent following his exit from Juventus earlier this summer.

The 26-year-old Serbian scored 68 goals across four-and-a-half seasons in Turin, but left upon the expiration of his contract and Besiktas announced on Tuesday it was in negotiations to sign the striker.

Vlahovic’s proposed move to Besiktas follows other high-profile forwards moving to the Turkish Super Lig recently, with Romelu Lukaku joining Fenerbahce, while Mohamed Salah moved to Trabszonspor.

Xavi has been appointed the new head coach of the Netherlands national team.

It is the 46-year-old’s first management job since his departure from Barcelona in the summer of 2024.

Leeds United are hopeful of completing a transfer for centre-back Nico Elvedi from Borussia Mönchengladbach.

The 29-year-old’s contract with the Bundesliga outfit, where he played under Daniel Farke in 2022-23, expires next summer.

Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona have reached an agreement in the region of €50m (£42.7m; $57.6m) for the transfer of Ferran Torres.

The Spanish club have confirmed that the deal will involve no add-ons, that documentation between the two clubs is still to be exchanged and that the transfer will soon be made official.

Napoli have agreed to sign Chelsea defender Benoit Badiashile on a season-long loan deal with an option to buy.

The agreement consists of a €4million (£3.4m) loan fee and an option to make the move permanent for a fixed fee of €27million (£23m).

Chelsea expect Enzo Fernandez to stay at the club for the 2026-27 season after the club’s self-imposed deadline passed without receiving a bid from Manchester City.

On Wednesday Chelsea imposed a deadline for City — or any club — to lodge an offer for the Argentina international before 5pm (11am ET) on Friday.

Chelsea say no offer arrived for Fernandez and the club have indicated that subsequently the verbal terms proposed to Fernandez’s camp for potential suitors at end of May now no longer stand.

Liverpool’s owners, Fenway Sports Group (FSG), have confirmed the sale of a minority stake in the Premier League club to a consortium including U.S. billionaire and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.

The agreement, announced Friday, follows talks that were first reported in July.

The move represents Bezos’ first foray into sports after many years of links to investment in a number of north American sports franchises.

Mikel Arteta says he wants to be at Arsenal and will “resolve” his contract situation despite not yet extending his deal which expires in 2027.

The Arsenal manager’s last contract extension was a three-year deal signed in September 2024.
