Midfielder Granit Xhaka is set to stay at Sunderland this summer despite attracting interest from Chelsea.

Xhaka is under contract to 2028 at the Stadium of Light and had been keen on the idea of the move.

However, following discussions, he has pledged his commitment to Sunderland and is set to remain at the Stadium of Light, where he is considered a key figure.

Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has rejoined Trabzonspor on a season-long loan.

Onana was expected to return to Carrington for pre-season training after making 33 appearances on loan at the Turkish Super Lig club last season, as well as winning the Turkish Cup.

Trabzonspor have been eager to extend the Cameroon international’s stay, however, with no prospect of him playing regularly again at Manchester United.

Folarin Balogun will be available to play the USMNT’s round of 16 match against Belgium with his one-game red-card ban suspended.
