Congress employs roughly 18,500 staffers. If each of them opens the Punchbowl newsletter three to four times per week, that alone produces around 65,000 impressions.

The implication: Punchbowlโ€™s core audience is Congress itself.

That suggests a circular model:
1. Sponsors purchase advertising in Punchbowl News.
2. Punchbowl maintains direct access to Senator Thune.
3. Senator Thune advances priorities aligned with those sponsors, validating the value of their advertising.
4. Sponsors then donate to Senator Thune and other members of Congress through PACs.
5. The cycle repeats.

A similar dynamic happens around Axios and Politico Playbook.

And no lectures on "this is how it's always worked in DC." This, right there, is why DC is a failure.

The one I showed you yesterday was from last year. Let's take a look ... nearly complete subscription coverage across Congress.

๐Ÿšจ SNAP Shock: Far many more millions in Food Aid Spent on ๐Ÿฆ€ King Crab, ๐Ÿฆž Lobster & ๐Ÿฅฉ Steaks than the Department of War ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

From an official government research study of $6.58 billion dollars in SNAP expenditures, $1.9 million dollars were spent on king crab, $2.2 million dollars were spent on lobster and $28.4 million on select beef loins.

Federal SNAP spending in 2024 was $99.8 billion. Scaled up, that means SNAP recipients spent $28.8 million dollars on king crab, $33.36 million dollars on lobster, and $430.75 million on steaks.

DoW spent $2 million on Alaskan king crab, $6.9 million on lobster tail, $15.1 million on ribeye steak.

Ask any journalist pushing the "Hegseth is spending money on lobster" propaganda if they're willing to cut out those categories for SNAP recipients. They will not be.

Update: the office of Senator Curtis responds, blames a technical error.

I went down a rabbit hole anyway, and there's a much bigger story as to how he became Senator. I'll be writing and publishing a factual article on how it happened.

Also apparently Ryan Evans did the doxxing on Bluesky first. Brad Duplessis appears to be following his editor's orders.

Karlin literally wrote the book on how to get out of Afghanistan and focus on Russia/China. I'd be surprised if she didn't have a big advisory role in the Afghanistan withdrawal.

Donald Trump is easily the worst president for free speech in modern U.S. history, and now there's data to prove it.

Context: Peewit is a side character in the Smurfs who is an ally but also has a knack for getting in trouble. Peewit doesn't control anything.

This story is an allegory for how cognitive biases can overtake someone's mindset and turn normally rational thinkers into irrational thinkers.

The numbers: 83 calls from Press TV to one senior figure tied to the protest network. Researchers found this outreach "far exceeded contact with other individuals based in the U.S.," indicating sustained engagement, not routine media calls. The leaked records span 2019 to 2022.

Singham was born 1954, son of a Marxist-Leninist scholar. Joined the League of Revolutionary Black Workers as a teenager. The FBI flagged him as "potentially dangerous" while he worked at a Chrysler plant in Detroit.

He told the agents: "I don't want to talk to you." And walked away.

The Dignity Index scores speech on a 1-8 scale. Kirk's style, passionate, unapologetic populism, would score a 2-3: "contempt."

The tool was designed to make the way conservatives communicate look pathological. It doesn't ban your speech. It SCORES it... CCP-style social credit.

๐Ÿงต๐Ÿšจ MAJOR BREAKING: A $15+ MILLION DOE contractor and NoKings protest organizer with active nuclear security contracts is on camera recommending a color revolution "how-to" ๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿšจ

His name is Steven A. Cash. Former CIA officer (Balkans, Clinton era). Under Biden: Senior Advisor to the Undersecretary at DHS Intelligence & Analysis.

The day after Trump's 2016 election, Cash co-founded "The Steady State" โ€” a network of more than 340 former intelligence community officials who decided Trump was an "existential threat".

When Biden won, the threat was gone. Cash went into Biden's DHS. His own words: "we disappeared."

Then Trump won again. "Suddenly the existential threat was back." The Steady State reactivated and is now a planning partner with NoKings. In the clip below, their meeting recommends "Bringing Down a Dictator" โ€” the Otpor documentary about toppling Miloลกeviฤ‡ โ€” as "a how-to."

Meanwhile, Cash's company Deck Prism LLC holds $15+ million in Department of Energy contracts. Almost every one: sole-source or non-competed. One is for the National Nuclear Security Administration โ€” our nuclear weapons program โ€” justified because "disclosure would compromise national security."

His FEC records: 20+ donations over 20 years. 100% Democratic. Zero Republican. Including $1,001 to Kamala Harris on August 4, 2024, while his NNSA nuclear contract was active.

I have the USAspending receipts, the FEC filings, and him on camera twice.

As always, patience as I pull together the thread. ๐Ÿ‘‡

The Steady State claims "501(c)(4)" status on their Substack. But I couldn't find that.

But in a SCOTUS brief (Newsom v. Trump, Oct 2025) they called themselves an "unincorporated association." And used the same address as in the DOE contracts.

Which is it?
