Hello Mr. Stiller.

You: "War is not a movie."

Also you: wrote, directed, and pocketed $188M from Tropic Thunder, a film whose entire premise is actors who mistake a war for a movie. You literally already made this point, for profit.

Let's check your oh-so-virtuous leftist credentials.

Your film put Robert Downey Jr. in blackface. You directed that. Your script used the word "r*tard" 17 times. You wrote that. Twenty-two disability organizations (Special Olympics, The Arc, National Down Syndrome Congress, the AAPD) launched a national boycott. That actually happened.

You took the $188M and kept every frame.

2018: "I stand by my apology."
2023: "I make no apologies for Tropic Thunder. Proud of it."

Pick one.

Your father: Jerry Stiller. Your mother: Anne Meara, an Emmy-nominated actress. Your first job: Saturday Night Live. July 2021, asked about Hollywood nepotism: "Show biz is ultimately a meritocracy. Untalented people don't really last if they get a break because of who they are or who they're related to."

The ultimate nepo baby telling people the game is fair... equity is for everyone who isn't you, apparently.

At the Comics for Kamala fundraiser you raised $150,000 for Harris. At that same event you said: "Every white Jewish guy wishes he was Black."

You are a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador. In June 2022 you flew to Kyiv for a photo with Zelensky.

Summing it up... A $200M Hamptons liberal who played everyman for profit. Blackface on screen, a disability slur 17 times in the script, an apology issued and then retracted, a humanitarian title treated as a press credential, and now... outrage that someone used your war movie about war.

"War is not a movie."

No. But your career has been.

🧵WOLF IN SHEEP'S CLOTHING: Meet David Pascoe, candidate for SC Attorney General. He's running as a Republican. But is he actually a Democrat?

Joe Biden is in South Carolina today.

Which makes this the perfect moment to introduce you to David Pascoe, candidate for SC Attorney General, running as a Republican, and what he said about Joe Biden in January 2020:

"He is the most decent man I have ever met in American politics. Joe has been a role model of mine for many years. He is someone my sons look up to. Joe is the first and only candidate I have ever endorsed for public office."

That's not only a Democrat who voted for Biden. That's a Democrat who hosted Biden's campaign fundraiser at his own annual oyster roast, endorsed him for president, and was Biden's frontrunner to become US Attorney for South Carolina.

David Pascoe spent 20+ years as an elected Democrat, 6 consecutive terms as SC First Circuit Solicitor. He pushed DEI-style racial quota systems for SC judges as recently as December 2023. Six months before his "conversion," he endorsed a Democratic state rep who voted against banning gender procedures on minors.

And here are the receipts. 👇

As always, patience as I pull together this thread.

lol. No. China is no global center of gravity. China is on the decline even as they cling onto their cultural supremacy and harbor grand delusions of returning to the tribute system.

Interesting watching that the Communist axis is finally revealing its true colors now that Trump is flushing out the global order they'd been hiding within, though.

It's impossible for a global military hegemon to persist. That's not the same thing as saying that the world is necessarily multipolar. The United States is still the global Harrison Bergeron trying to shrug off his shackles.

"When President Trump went in there and bombed out their nuclear, and they just thumbed their nose at it, I believe he did the right thing at the right ‌time," Soule said on Friday as he filled up his Ford F-150 truck in Marietta, Georgia.
Other states, including Indiana and West Virginia have seen prices rise by 44.3 cents and 43.9 cents, respectively.

Public Trust in Government: 1958-2025

Just 17% of Americans now say they trust the government in Washington to do what is right “just about always” (2%) or “most of the time” (15%).

While trust in government has been low for decades, the current measure is one of the lowest in the nearly seven decades since the question was first asked by the National Election Study, and it is lower than it was last year (22%).

Hello Dr. Snyder,

You have a DPhil from Oxford. You were the Richard C. Levin Professor of History at Yale. You speak five languages and read ten. You have written sixteen books. You are, by your own positioning, the historian who has Seen This Before, who knows Where This Leads, who has Read The Right Books.

You wrote one of those books (126 pages) in approximately two weeks. On Tyranny: Twenty Lessons from the Twentieth Century. It started as a Facebook post. It has sold 1.4 million copies. It inspired a graphic novel, a punk song, a rap song, and an opera. It made you a very wealthy man. Lesson 20 is "Be as courageous as you can." You wrote that in two weeks.

Your predictive track record: Trump would do a coup instead of the 2020 election. He didn't. American democracy would collapse under Trump 1.0. It didn't. And now: Trump will start a war with Iran specifically to manufacture a terrorist attack specifically to cancel the midterms.

You can't even be original in your own predictions!

Your 2018 book The Road to Unfreedom argued that Vladimir Putin's ideology is primarily driven by Ivan Ilyin, an obscure Russian fascist philosopher. Serious Russia scholars called it speculative. The Reddit history community, which is not exactly right-wing, wrote: "The closer you get to the present, the more of a pundit he is over a historian per se." You are a pundit who charges historian prices.

In September 2022, you held a two-hour private meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky... at a conference funded by Victor Pinchuk. Victor Pinchuk is the son-in-law of former Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma. You are now the inaugural holder of the Temerty Chair at the University of Toronto... funded by James Temerty, a Ukrainian-born billionaire. You chair the academic council of the Ukrainian History Global Initiative... funded by Victor Pinchuk. Carl Bildt chairs the board. Anne Applebaum is on the council. You testified before Congress in April 2024 that Republican narratives on Ukraine constitute Russian disinformation.

A historian paid by Ukrainian oligarchs telling Congress that Ukraine skeptics are Russian assets. Definitely no conflict there.

In April 2024 you testified before the US House Oversight Committee, characterizing Republican members' questions about Ukraine as "Russian and Chinese propaganda themes." Historian? You're starting to sound much more like oppo research.

Summing it up.

A two-week pamphlet sold as historical scholarship. Predictions that didn't land, now recycled today. A private meeting with a head of state, a chair funded by that state's billionaires, congressional testimony on their behalf... and a scholarly independence claim maintained with a straight face.

And today: Trump is going to war with Iran so that Iran attacks us so that he can cancel the midterms. (Again.)

"Be calm when the unthinkable arrives." ~ Timothy Snyder, On Tyranny, Lesson 18, written in two weeks, 1.4 million copies sold.

You are calm, Dr. Snyder. Very calm. And also a huge grifter off your gullible audience who eats up your nonsensical prophecies.

You know, one of the first things I picked up in my amateur crash course on military strategy is that logistics behave like a living system. They adapt. People reroute, improvise, substitute. The whole idea that you can cut one line and starve an entire state (let alone the world) is all Hollywood.

Which is why it's been a little surreal watching the same War College professors who have spent decades teaching exactly that suddenly set aside their own lectures the moment Trump enters the conversation. Maybe I’m the idiot here; I only took the crash course.

In case you're wondering why Senate Republicans are so slow to move on this issue, National Association of Realtors is among their top donors.

And NAR is a total open-borders group.

Congress employs roughly 18,500 staffers. If each of them opens the Punchbowl newsletter three to four times per week, that alone produces around 65,000 impressions.

The implication: Punchbowl’s core audience is Congress itself.

That suggests a circular model:
1. Sponsors purchase advertising in Punchbowl News.
2. Punchbowl maintains direct access to Senator Thune.
3. Senator Thune advances priorities aligned with those sponsors, validating the value of their advertising.
4. Sponsors then donate to Senator Thune and other members of Congress through PACs.
5. The cycle repeats.

A similar dynamic happens around Axios and Politico Playbook.

And no lectures on "this is how it's always worked in DC." This, right there, is why DC is a failure.

🚨 SNAP Shock: Far many more millions in Food Aid Spent on 🦀 King Crab, 🦞 Lobster & 🥩 Steaks than the Department of War 🇺🇸

From an official government research study of $6.58 billion dollars in SNAP expenditures, $1.9 million dollars were spent on king crab, $2.2 million dollars were spent on lobster and $28.4 million on select beef loins.

Federal SNAP spending in 2024 was $99.8 billion. Scaled up, that means SNAP recipients spent $28.8 million dollars on king crab, $33.36 million dollars on lobster, and $430.75 million on steaks.

DoW spent $2 million on Alaskan king crab, $6.9 million on lobster tail, $15.1 million on ribeye steak.

Ask any journalist pushing the "Hegseth is spending money on lobster" propaganda if they're willing to cut out those categories for SNAP recipients. They will not be.
