An underrated aspect of the peace deal is that, if it succeeds, it removes much of the underlying justification for protest anger. Foundations in the late 1960s did a hard pivot to the left by absorbing civil rights dissent instead of fighting it. Many Black Nationalist groups started getting massive amounts of money and it's been that way since for all left-wing causes. They co-opted revolution into the system itself, gave activists UBIs, and as a result traded Weathermen bombers for loyal foot soldiers.
