The current director of RLS-NYC is Stefan Liebich. Born December 30, 1972, in Wismar — East Germany. Joined the PDS, the SED successor party, in 1990 at age 18. Served as a Die Linke Bundestag member from 2009 to 2021 and chaired their foreign affairs parliamentary group.

On April 8, 2026, Liebich published "100 Days of Mayor Mamdani" on rosalux.nyc.
