Have shared my thoughts on this in here quite a bit, IMO it makes perfect sense that's what they do - build "better" versions of existing tech.
But the truth is - and this probably upsets lots of people - is that most of the projects people complain about with regard to "Base built their own in-house version of (x)" are not high enough quality to reach the masses.
The prediction markets built on Base were all hot garbage. So they partnered with Kalshi on Coinbase. Why would they support an onchain prediction market that doesn't work, or isn't reliable?
Answer is simple: they shouldn't, because they can do it better. It's not worth letting a competitor (Binance building their own, etc.) beat them to the market?
This doesn't necessarily pertain to Bankr, and I don't really care to get involved in that discussion, just sharing what the post made me think about.
Remains to be seen if a Coinbase version is better though 🤷♂️

Matt (moltbook guy) ignoring crypto after launching a Solana coin a year+ ago confirmed for me that the ppl involved in the actual ai/LLM sector view ct (and crypto by extension) as less ev than sf tech scene, which makes sense given the billions flowing in.
It's more important to get invited to an odd sf party than to claim 5 figures on Bankr.

We worked with Matt on bridging his coin $YNE to Base from Soylana last year.
He's been in crypto longer than most ppl on ct, yet doesn't care about the token for moltbook etc., and in conversations with him I got the vibe he cared wayyyy more about the tech and contributing to the advancement of ai than promoting coins.
YNE was very cool, bit over my head because I'm not technical..but cool nonetheless. You can always sorta tell something's interesting ya know?
