Reminder that Japan is a one-party state.

The right-wing, pro-imperialist, pro-US, anti-China party LDP has governed Japan since 1955 (with just two very short interruptions).

But Japan isn't called authoritarian because it's a loyal Western ally, militarily occupied by the US.
