👀 JUST IN: YZi Labs (formerly Binance Labs) has announced its investment into OneKey, the open-source hardware wallet.

Interestingly enough, they chose OneKey over Trezor and Ledger.

The Binance founder noted the only real requirement for a cold wallet is that the private key never leaves the device, especially after recent Trezor and Ledger data breaches that led to millions lost in social engineering scams.

This comes after some of the biggest crypto thefts this year happened on Korean platforms, with multiple exchanges getting drained and users left without proper compensation.

This follows an employee being caught selling access to Binance’s official X account to promote scam projects. The exchange is now looking for anyone else involved.

It also comes after a Coinbase insider was arrested for leaking confidential user info to callers.

👀JUST IN: A wallet tied to the original Silk Road marketplace from 2011 just moved 33 BTC ($3.4M)

The funds were split across 176 transactions, and the wallet still holds 415 BTC (~$39M). Despite law enforcement seizing many early Silk Road wallets, this one was recovered and has recently started moving BTC again.

The Silk Road wallet has just withdrawn 520 BTC ($46M) from Coinbase back into its main wallet, even with law enforcement actively tracking it.

Authorities have spent 12 years seizing every wallet tied to Silk Road. Interestingly, whoever controls this one deposited all the BTC into Coinbase first, then withdrew it to their main wallet.

👮JUST IN: Terra Luna founder Do Kwon has been sentenced to 15 years in prison.

He was convicted for orchestrating one of the largest frauds in crypto history, tied to the $40B collapse of UST and LUNA after misleading investors about how the stablecoin was backed.
