The Tenovus – A SIMPLE Boat That Built Future Leaders.

In the early days on Cape Cod, the Kennedy family had a little 16-foot Wianno Junior class sloop. It started as “The Eight of Us”… and when the family grew, they renamed her TENOVUS=116 116->26 GOD=26 “ten of us.”

Joseph Kennedy bought her so all the kids could LEARN TO SAIL=126 1x26=26 GOD=26, especially Joe Jr. and young Jack.

No fancy yacht…just a small wooden boat where they learned discipline, teamwork, handling wind and waves, and the simple joy of being on the water.

This little boat helped shape them in their teenage years. Hands-on. Humble. Real.

It reminds me of that childlike heart Jesus talked about…coming to learn with open hands, trusting the process, and building something solid one tack at a time.

In these days we’re living..the ones people only dreamed of, maybe the sign is simpler than we think:

Get out on the water. Learn the ropes. Erect the front porch. Build with what you’ve got.
