@JonPill Fiat is primarily created by lending, so difficult to do (when a bank lends you $1,000, it creates the money from thin air.. on the balance sheet, the cash becomes a liability, and the loan an asset.. this capability is why loans can exceed deposits by orders of magnitude..)

@sowmaler A lot needs to be worked out, but would say that the ckBTC + Lightning extension should collateralize its own channel (e.g. the NNS could buy BTC from a DEX, or something...). So transparent for ckBTC out, but going in would require sending wallet to lock some liquidity.
