Gurkanwal Singh | Rank 353 (CSE 2024) l IAS
Another Final Lap group warrior who chose resilience over regret.
Posted as a BSF Assistant Commandant and caught in the middle of rigorous training, Gurkanwal—like Damanpreet—didn’t have the luxury of long hours or perfect prep conditions.
After the heartbreak of missing out in CSE 2023, he had barely a few weeks to bounce back.
But with the right guidance, he didn’t just clear Prelims 2024—he comfortably crossed even the tougher Forest Services cut-off.
Not by studying more, but by studying right.
Not by memorising random facts, but by thinking like the examiner.
That’s the core of the Prelims Marks booster Program—helping you see what others miss, and mark what others doubt.

In My Opinion,
Even if it's 2023 type paper, you should never ever attempt less than 97 Questions.
Because, in Prelims no matter how unpredictable they design a new pattern each year, one thing had been constantly unchanged- The examiner Mindset.
So if you are thorough with decoding PYQs , you should always attempt maximum possible questions to offset random variables.

You can see in this chart why i emphasize attempting near about 100 questions.
Because most of us have accuracy about 60-65% which can easily fetch cut off marks for prelims.

This one simple exercise that helped me crack IIT-JEE with a good rank & UPSC Prelims multiple times— comfortably .
In the last 10 days, I'd attempt full-length PYQs under real exam conditions:
9–11 AM & 2–4 PM.
No fan. No AC. No distractions.
Same pen. Same food. Even the Same dress & Same slippers.
I also reset my sleep cycle to wake up before 6 AM—to be calm, fresh, focused during exam hours.
Because IN THE END, IT’S NOT THE KNOWLEDGE—IT’S MINDSET that clears the exam.

Exactly this week, just before Prelims last year—Damanpreet messaged me:
“Sir, this is my last attempt. With PCS job pressure, I’m thinking of skipping Prelims. I still have 5+ years age left.”
I said only one thing:
“If you’re scoring 140+ in PYQs by the last day—don’t skip. Appear. No matter how many attempts you’ve got left.”
She trusted the process suggested in marks booster program videos .
Scored 115+ in Prelims.
Cracked Mains.
Now she’s Rank 103 and PSIR Topper (299).
This 1 week can shape your destiny. Don’t give up. Believe.
Shift to PYQs mindset now completely.

The ONLY way to master RC in Prelims and clear CSAT confidently-
Start with UPSC RC questions (2018–2024).
Attempt one paper at a time.
Then deeply analyse:
Why did you get it right?
Why did you get it wrong?
Why did UPSC choose this option over that one?
Soon, a pattern will emerge.
A pattern you can’t explain to others—
but you’ll feel it.
You’ll know which option the examiner will pick.
No YouTube. No shortcuts. ❌
Just this—daily, for 7 days. ✅
Attempt from 2–4 PM.
Finish in 45 mins.
Sit seriously—no fan, no AC.
Train your mind for exam environment.
Do this.
And i promise you will see drastic results.

These two secret tricks helped Rajan (Rank 693 CSE'24) scoring 120 marks in GS as well as CSAT -
First- Confidence that if I don't know the answer to this question, no one else does!
Second- Mindset that he developed through the decodes discussed in
Final lap group videos.
If you also want to secure
20-30+ marks above the cut off,
