Last year when I said cut off would be 75-77 , so many people were saying it's impossible πŸ˜…πŸ˜…

πŸ‘‰For this year after analyzing the question paper thoroughly and taking inputs from various selected as well as multiple times interview appeared friends, my final cut off assessment is 87-89 ( as per UPSC answer key)

✨So if your score is anywhere around 80-100 with different Institute keys, you must start preparing for mains as soon as possible.

πŸ‘‰Already you are 21 days behind the actual schedule, bcz of delay in prelims date.

Good luck πŸ€

UPDATE

CSM mains 2024 result is being drafted right now.

TRENDS

πŸ‘‰Essay huge variations seen ( average around 95)
πŸ‘‰GS1, 3 very similar like last year
πŸ‘‰GS2, 4 inflated marks compared to last year.

πŸ‘‰Cut off around 741 (Gen categ)

Again ESSAY and PT MARKS are going to be the game changer for final selection.

The result would be published only after departmental procedures are completed .

Good luck

Final result CSE 2024

πŸ‘‰As per current information , the expected date is 22nd April

πŸ‘‰Like I previously said, variations in PT marks would be huge. Average marks will be kept the same for all panels(around 160). But individual range would vary between 90s to 210s in large numbers.

πŸ‘‰ Optional weightage is being brought down , hence [Essay +PT ] would be king makers

Good News for  PRELIMS 2025

πŸ‘‰ CSAT is expected to be at a moderate difficulty level, very similar to 2024.

πŸ‘‰ 2022-23 type highly challenging questions in maths and reasoning sections are unlikely to appear.

πŸ‘‰Hence, a greater focus on the GS paper should be your top priority.

Weightage wise to do list

1.Economy
2.Polity
3.Geography
4.Modern
5.Environment & agriculture+Maths
6.Current affairs +Reasoning
7.Art&Culture+RC

Last but the most important thing-

πŸ‘‰ PYQs analysis and mindset building

πŸ‘‰Like I said earlier, UPSC is refocusing back to GS paper, mainly on conceptual static subjects.

πŸ‘‰Hence a greater effort is needed in GS to clear Prelims cut off.

πŸ‘‰Go through CDS, Geoscientist, IES GK papers once

The obvious choice would be C/D (using similar sounding and contemporary decode)

Between C and D you have 50% probability.

Now as I said in
the program that this question doesn't come under conceptual economy/ geography type question, hence choose C βœ… over D if you really want to attempt this weird factual question in exam hall and get it correct!!
