אלפי מבקרים התכנסו על מנת לחזות בפלא הזריחה במקדש אבו סימבל באסוואן, בדרום מצרים. במהלך האירוע קרני השמש הזורחת חודרות אל המבנה ומאירות בדיוק מדהים את פניו של המלך רעמסס השני, לכבודו נבנה המקדש. אירוע הזריחה מתקיים פעמיים בשנה: ב-22 בפברואר, וב-22 באוקטובר. (בתקופה העתיקה התרחש פלא הזריחה ב-21 בפברואר ובאוקטובר, אך המבנה הועתק ממקומו בשנות השישים על מנת לשמור עליו עם בניית סכר אסואן). את האירוע ליוו חגיגות וריקודים.

Thousands of visitors gathered to witness the Abu Simbel Sun Festival in Aswan, southern Egypt.
During the event, the rays of the rising sun penetrate the temple and illuminate the face of King Ramesses II—after whom the temple was built—with remarkable precision.
The solar alignment occurs twice a year: on February 22 and October 22. In ancient times, the phenomenon occurred on February 21 and October 21, but the temple was relocated during the 1960s to preserve it amid the construction of the Aswan High Dam.
The event was accompanied by celebrations and traditional dances.

חמושים שזהותם אינה ידועה פתחו באש בתוך כנסייה במחוז כרכ שבדרום ירדן, במהלך טקס הלוויה שנערך במקום.
על פי דיווחים ראשוניים, לפחות שבעה בני אדם נהרגו וכעשרה נוספים נפצעו. מניין הנפגעים עדיין אינו סופי וטרם אושר במלואו בידי הרשויות.
מנהלת הביטחון הכללי הירדנית אישרה כי ישנם הרוגים ופצועים וכי כוחות הביטחון מנהלים מצוד אחר המעורבים. שר התקשורת הממשלתי מסר שהרשויות בודקות את המידע וכי הודעות נוספות יפורסמו לאחר אימות הפרטים.
בשלב זה לא נמסרו פרטים על זהות החמושים, המניע או מצבם של הנפגעים.
כרכ נמצאת מזרחית לים המלח, במרחק של כ־23 ק״מ מהגבול עם ישראל בנקודה הקרובה ביותר ובקו כללי מול אזור מצדה.

Unidentified gunmen opened fire inside a church in the Karak Governorate in southern Jordan during a funeral service.
According to initial reports, at least seven people were killed and approximately ten others were wounded. The casualty figures remain preliminary and have not yet been fully confirmed by the authorities.
Jordan’s Public Security Directorate confirmed that the attack resulted in deaths and injuries and that security forces were pursuing those involved. The government communications minister said the authorities were verifying the information and that further statements would be issued once the details had been confirmed.
No information has yet been released regarding the gunmen’s identities, their motive, or the condition of the wounded.
Karak is located east of the Dead Sea, approximately 23 kilometers from the Israeli border at its nearest point and roughly opposite the Masada area.
