Israel released five Lebanese detainees earlier today who had been arrested in recent months in IDF-occupied southern Lebanon, the Prime Ministerโ€™s Office said.

The release is intended to help advance efforts to recover the remains of leaders of Lebanonโ€™s Jewish community.

As part of negotiations with Lebanon, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has instructed officials to โ€œadvance efforts to locate and returnโ€ the bodies of Jewish community leaders who were โ€œabducted and murdered by terrorist organizationsโ€ in the mid-1980s.

One has already been returned to Lebanon ๐Ÿ‘‡
