הלילה בפעילות מבצעית מיוחדת ובהכוונה מודיעינית מדויקת של שב״כ, פעלו לוחמי הימ״מ - היחידה הלאומית ללוחמה בטרור של מדינת ישראל, בעיר שכם שבחטיבת שומרון, למעצר מבוקש החשוד במעורבות בפעילות טרור.

המבוקש, בן 37, דרוש למעצר מימי פעילותו בעבר בהתארגנות הטרור ׳גוב האריות׳ בשכם, שסוכלה על ידי כוחות הביטחון בשנת 2022. לאורך התקופה פעל המבוקש לקידום פעילות טרור ולניסיונות להוצאת פיגועים נגד אזרחי מדינת ישראל.

עם קבלת ההכוונה המודיעינית, נערכו לוחמי הימ״מ למעצרו. הלוחמים הפתיעו את המבוקש בהגעה סמויה וחשאית לביתו ועצרו אותו.

המבוקש הועבר להמשך חקירת שירות הביטחון הכללי.

Overnight, in a special operation guided by precise Shin Bet intelligence, fighters from YAMAM — Israel’s National Counter-Terrorism Unit — operated in the city of Nablus to arrest a wanted man suspected of involvement in terrorist activity.
The 37-year-old suspect had been wanted since his previous involvement with the “Lions’ Den” terrorist organization in Nablus, which was dismantled by Israeli security forces in 2022. During that period, the suspect worked to advance terrorist activity and attempted to carry out attacks against Israeli civilians.
Following the intelligence received, YAMAM fighters prepared for his arrest. The forces covertly and clandestinely approached his home, took him by surprise, and arrested him.
The suspect was transferred to the Shin Bet for further interrogation.
No Israeli forces were injured.

In the 1940s, Zionists used that exact slogan to free the Jewish homeland from British rule.
Then the meaning was flipped.
Long before it became a Western protest brand,
“Free Palestine” had a different owner.
American Jewish groups, the Zionist Organization of America (1897) and the American League for a Free Palestine (1944) - ran mass campaigns with one goal: End the British Mandate, let Jews living in the land for centuries to build a sovereign state in their ancestral land.
And the name Palestine itself was never “native Arab.”
After crushing the Bar Kokhba revolt, Rome renamed the province of Judea Syria Palaestina - a colonial overwrite meant to sever Jews from the land they had just rebelled for.
Jews come from Judea, “Palestine” was the occupier’s label.
Jews kept calling it home for 3,000 years anyway.
So when Jews said “Free Palestine” in the 1940s, they meant: free Judea from the latest empire sitting on it.
The British.
About twenty years later, the slogan was lifted.
In 1964 the PLO was founded, while Judea and Samaria aka West Bank was under Jordan and Gaza under Egypt.
There was no Israeli “occupation” of those territories yet, Arab movements took the old Zionist phrase and inverted it.
Same three words. Opposite target.
Moscow saw everything, and after Israel aligned with the West, the Soviets invested in an anti-Western, anti-Israel story: Israel as the last colonial villain, “Palestinians” as the permanent victims.
That framing, more than any ancient local slogan, is what turned “Free Palestine” into a Cold War export that lives on to this day.
It worked.
The narrative moved from Cairo conference halls to the UN, where Israel has been condemned more than Syria, Sudan, North Korea, or Yemen.
It helped produce the 1975 resolution "Zionism is racism" that was repealed in 1991.
The slogan survived the repeal, you fell for it.
