The U.S. has launched “Operation Economic Outcast” against Iran. ⚡ Washington says the operation is designed to systematically disrupt the regime’s financial lifelines, procurement networks, and international economic relationships, limiting its ability to fund military activity, missile development, and cyber operations.

The measures target military and missile procurement networks, front companies and financial intermediaries, oil and petrochemical traders, and entities accused of helping transfer funds or evade international restrictions. The United States has also imposed measures against an Iranian cyber group that Washington says carried out sustained intrusions into U.S. critical infrastructure, including energy, communications, water, and transportation systems.

U.S. officials describe the campaign as broader than a series of isolated sanctions. Its stated objective is to disconnect Iran from the financial systems, suppliers, and trade routes that enable its regional and international activities. The measures could affect shipping companies, refineries, oil brokers, insurers, and financial institutions suspected of facilitating transactions involving Iranian entities.
