The U.S. military struck an elementary school in Iran on February 28.

Bloomberg claimed that a U.S. strike on a facility in Iran on February 28 resulted from an intelligence database error.
According to the report, the site was initially misidentified as an IRGC naval base, but in 2019 an analyst clarified that it was actually an elementary school.
The correction was allegedly never entered into the targeting database, potentially affecting later military decisions.

Available imagery indicates that the damage to the school was caused by a failed launch by the IRGC, not by Israel or the United States.
The claim, which received nearly 11,000 likes, 5,000 reposts, and over 750,000 views, is inconsistent with geolocation analysis independently verified by GeoConfirmed.

There is no possible way the object shown in the Zanjan image struck the school—it was photographed approximately 1,300 km away in the opposite direction.

The Minab school is located adjacent to an IRGC base.
According to open-source maps such as OpenStreetMap, the school lies within the IRGC base's training area.
(Unverified) Iranian opposition channels have speculated that the school may have been used by personnel associated with the base.
The image allegedly showing an improvised or defective Iranian missile was actually taken about 1,300 km away, near the IRGC Zanjan missile base, which was struck on the same day. It has no connection to the school.
Likewise, the image showing a falling missile against snow-covered mountains does not match the landscape around Minab.
The school is located in southeastern Iran, roughly 2,200 km from Israel, on the Strait of Hormuz, an area generally associated with U.S. military activity rather than the areas where Israeli strikes have typically been reported.
Everything else—including the reported casualty figures—remains speculative.
