Shin Bet Director David Zini reportedly warned in closed-door discussions that "the next October 7 could take place in the city of Eilat," according to journalist Josh Breiner. Security officials said Zini has instructed the agency to place Eilat at the top of its priority list when preparing for a potential attack scenario against the city.
The Municipality of Eilat and the Eilot Regional Council responded to the concerning report, emphasizing that there is no concrete intelligence warning from the security services.
"As the Shin Bet has clarified, there is no specific information indicating a new or imminent threat to the city of Eilat," said Mayor Eli Lankri. "At the same time, the city and all security forces responsible for its protection are prepared and ready for any scenario." about two weeks ago an Israeli Navy commander aboard a Dvora-class patrol boat identified a jet ski approaching Eilat at high speed from the direction of Jordan and declared a suspected infiltration attempt. The Israeli vessel opened fire and struck the craft, which subsequently turned back toward Jordanian waters.
The incident raised concerns that the watercraft may not have been manned, but instead could have been an unmanned surface or underwater vehicle used to test Israeli security responses in the area.
Shin Bet Director David Zini recently visited Eilat and reviewed possible infiltration scenarios, particularly by sea. The Shin Bet stated that there is currently no specific threat warning regarding Eilat and described the planning as part of broader operational preparedness efforts.

According to Radio-Canada, the shooter was linked to incel ideology — a misogynistic worldview that fueled one of Canada's deadliest mass attacks, the 2018 Toronto van attack, in which 10 people were killed.
Canadian media outlets have published excerpts from the shooter's manifesto, suggesting that he may have been targeting the offices of Aylo, the parent company of Pornhub, one of the world's largest pornography websites.
In a manifesto found in his hotel room, the shooter wrote that young men "do not receive the respect they deserve from women," whom he claimed treat them cruelly.
He also published a manifesto attacking the capitalist elite, concluding with a call to "show determination and kill them," though he did not specify who exactly he believed should be killed or why.

Dmitry Cohen, a 28-year-old resident of Haifa, has been sentenced to eight and a half years in prison after being convicted of maintaining contact with a foreign agent and of seven counts of attempted transmission of information that could assist the enemy. According to the verdict, Cohen was in contact with an individual who presented himself as an Iranian operative and carried out various tasks on his behalf, including during the war.
And take note of the following absurdity: the court ruled that the identity of the person operating the account with whom Cohen was communicating was not proven, nor was it proven that the individual was an Iranian agent acting on behalf of an enemy state. As a result, despite the seriousness of his actions, Cohen was convicted of seven counts of attempted transmission of information to the enemy, rather than the actual transmission of information to the enemy.

The primary destination of the Houthi-affiliated airline Yemenia Airways, which operates only a limited number of flights, is Jordan — specifically Amman's Queen Alia International Airport. This is because Jordan is the only country in the region where the Houthis are permitted to land on direct flights from Sana'a International Airport in Yemen.
In addition, opposite Ramon Airport in southern Israel and near the city of Eilat lies another international airport in Jordan — King Hussein International Airport, located very close to both Aqaba and Eilat. Houthi-linked flights are also permitted to land there, and as we report this morning, these activities are being monitored by the Israeli security establishment.
