ראש השב"כ התריע כי ה-7 באוקטובר הבא - יהיה באילת

ראש השב"כ דוד זיני התריע בדיונים סגורים כי "7 באוקטובר הבא עשוי להיות בעיר אילת", כך דיווח העיתונאי ג'וש בריינר. לדברי גורמים במערכת הביטחון ראש השב"כ הורה להציב את אילת בראש סדר העדיפויות לתרחיש של מתקפה אפשרית על העיר. עיריית אילת והמועצה האזורית אילות הגיבו לדיווח המטריד, והדגישו על מנת להרגיע את התושבים: "אין התרעה קונקרטית מכוחות הביטחון".

"כפי שהבהיר השב"כ אין כל מידע קונקרטי על איום חדש או מיידי הנשקף לעיר אילת", אמר לנקרי. "יחד עם זאת העיר וכל כוחות הביטחון המגנים עליה ערוכים ומוכנים לכל תרחיש". לנקרי ציין כי מאז שבעה באוקטובר הופקו לקחים חשובים וכי המענה הביטחוני בגזרה תוגבר, לרבות לאורך הגבול המזרחי.

לפני כשבועיים, מפקד בחיל הים הישראלי על סיפון סירת טילים מסוג דבורה זיהה אופנוע ים המתקרב במהירות לאילת מכיוון ירדן והכריז על חשד לניסיון חדירה, מה שגרם לכלי השיט הישראלי לפתוח באש ופגע בכלי השיט, שפנה לאחר מכן לכיוון ירדן.

Shin Bet Chief Warns the Next October 7 Could Be in Eilat

Shin Bet Director David Zini reportedly warned in closed-door discussions that "the next October 7 could take place in the city of Eilat," according to journalist Josh Breiner. Security officials said Zini has instructed the agency to place Eilat at the top of its priority list when preparing for a potential attack scenario against the city.
The Municipality of Eilat and the Eilot Regional Council responded to the concerning report, emphasizing that there is no concrete intelligence warning from the security services.
"As the Shin Bet has clarified, there is no specific information indicating a new or imminent threat to the city of Eilat," said Mayor Eli Lankri. "At the same time, the city and all security forces responsible for its protection are prepared and ready for any scenario." Lankri noted that important lessons have been learned since October 7 and that security measures in the sector, including along the eastern border, have been significantly reinforced.

about two weeks ago an Israeli Navy commander aboard a Dvora-class patrol boat identified a jet ski approaching Eilat at high speed from the direction of Jordan and declared a suspected infiltration attempt. The Israeli vessel opened fire and struck the craft, which subsequently turned back toward Jordanian waters.
The incident raised concerns that the watercraft may not have been manned, but instead could have been an unmanned surface or underwater vehicle used to test Israeli security responses in the area.
Shin Bet Director David Zini recently visited Eilat and reviewed possible infiltration scenarios, particularly by sea. The Shin Bet stated that there is currently no specific threat warning regarding Eilat and described the planning as part of broader operational preparedness efforts.
The IDF is scheduled to conduct a large-scale exercise in the city tomorrow, including drills simulating terrorist infiltration attempts from both land and sea.

We're talking about a status quo where children are being killed on a daily basis.

More than a thousand Palestinians have been killed by the Israeli military since the so-called ceasefire.

Even an Al Jazeera journalist, Ahmed Wishah, who was killed this past Saturday by an Israeli strike.

And when I am speaking about AIPAC, I'm speaking about an organization that has been supportive of the status quo, that has fought any attempt to actually deliver safety to people not just in Palestine, but frankly through much of the region and it is a status quo for immorality. It is one that I will not accept.

And when it comes to the way in which they defend the status quo, oftentimes they defend it through direct contributions as we are seeing right now in New York 13.

Oftentimes they also support the status quo through dark money by filtering money that would have previously been directly from AIPAC now through other shell organizations whose identities of their contributors are only made clear after an election.

And I think that it is important that when we ask ourselves how such death and destruction is happening overseas, we also name those who allow it to take place.
