מארגני מצעד הגאווה ברומא אסרו על ארגוני הלהט"ב היהודיים קשת איטליה וקשת אירופה להשתתף במצעד הגאווה, שיתקיים ב-20 ביוני ברומא.

הסיבה לכך הייתה שהארגונים לכאורה לא גינו בצורה מספקת את פעולות ישראל בעזה, אותן כינו הנהגת המצעד "רצח עם מתמשך".

המארגנים הצהירו כי השתתפות במצעד אפשרית רק עם "עמדה ברורה וחד משמעית" נגד פעולות ממשלת ישראל.

בתגובה, קשת איטליה - ארגון הלהט"ב היהודי היחיד במדינה - האשים את המארגנים באפליה ובהדרת יהודים מהמרחב הציבורי. הארגון הדגיש: "אין גאווה שבה מיעוטים מודרים".

נציגי הקבוצה הצהירו גם כי במהלך מצעד הגאווה בשנה שעברה, המארגנים התעלמו מאירועים אנטישמיים וסירבו לגנות בפומבי את התקפות על משתתפים יהודים.

השערורייה כבר עוררה מחלוקת נרחבת באיטליה וברשתות החברתיות. מבקרי ההחלטה סבורים כי המארגנים למעשה הציבו עמדה פוליטית בנושא המזרח התיכון כתנאי להשתתפות באירוע הציבורי.

Rome Pride organizers have banned the Jewish LGBT organizations Keshet Italia and Keshet Europa from participating in the Pride Parade, which will take place on June 20 in Rome.

The reason was that the organizations allegedly did not sufficiently strongly condemn Israel's actions in Gaza, which the Pride leadership called "an ongoing genocide."

The organizers stated that participation in the march is only possible with a "clear and unequivocal position" against the actions of the Israeli government.

In response, Keshet Italia—the only Jewish LGBT organization in the country—accused the organizers of discrimination and excluding Jews from public space. The organization emphasized: "There is no pride where minorities are excluded."

The group's representatives also stated that during last year's Pride, organizers ignored anti-Semitic incidents and refused to publicly condemn attacks on Jewish participants.

The scandal has already sparked widespread controversy in Italy and on social media. Critics of the decision believe that the organizers effectively made a political stance on the Middle East a condition for participation in the public event.
