מחקירתו בשב״כ ובימ״ר מרכז במשטרה עלה כי דעאס עמד בקשר עם אותו גורם עוין וזאת בעת שמדינת ישראל מצויה במלחמה. במסגרת הקשר שלח הנאשם מיקומים ותמונות של אתרים ביטחוניים ונקודות עניין נוספות בישראל, מידע אשר יש בו כדי לפגוע פגיעה של ממש בביטחון המדינה ובציבור אזרחיה.

בתום חקירתו, היום (ה׳), הגישה הפרקליטות הפלילית במחוז מרכז כתב אישום חמור לבית המשפט.

מדובר פעילות חמורה של אזרח ישראלי אשר ביצע פעילות אסורה בעת מלחמה, חרף כך כי יש בפעילותו משום פגיעה בביטחון המדינה.

מקרה זה מצטרף לשורה של מקרים מהתקופה האחרונה המלמדים על מאמצים חוזרים ונשנים של גורמי טרור ומודיעין עוינים לגייס אזרחים ישראלים לטובת ביצוע משימות שנועדו לפגוע בביטחון מדינת ישראל ותושביה.

גופי הביטחון של מדינת ישראל, ובכללם שירות הביטחון הכללי ומשטרת ישראל, שבים ומזהירים את אזרחי ותושבי ישראל מפני קיום קשר עם גורמים זרים וביצוע משימות עבורם. כלל גופי הביטחון וגורמי האכיפה יפעלו למצות את הדין בחומרה מול כל המעורבים בפעילות שכזו.

The Shin Bet and the Central District Major Crimes Unit arrested an Israeli citizen from Tira who carried out security-related missions for Iranian operatives.

In a joint operation conducted by the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) and the Central District Major Crimes Unit of the Israel Police, Ahmad Fawaz Abd al-Aziz Da’as, an Israeli citizen and resident of Tira, was arrested on suspicion of maintaining contact with an Iranian operative and carrying out tasks under their direction.

The investigation conducted by the Shin Bet and the police revealed that Da’as maintained contact with the hostile actor while the State of Israel is at war. As part of this connection, the suspect allegedly sent locations and photographs of security sites and other points of interest in Israel — information that could seriously harm state security and the safety of Israeli citizens.

Following the conclusion of the investigation, the Central District Criminal Prosecutor’s Office today (Thursday) filed a serious indictment against him in court.

This is a severe case involving an Israeli citizen who engaged in prohibited activity during wartime, despite being fully aware that his actions could harm national security.

This case joins a series of recent incidents demonstrating ongoing efforts by hostile intelligence and terrorist elements to recruit Israeli citizens for missions intended to undermine the security of the State of Israel and its residents.

Israel’s security agencies, including the Shin Bet and the Israel Police, once again warn Israeli citizens and residents against maintaining contact with foreign actors or carrying out tasks on their behalf. All security and law enforcement bodies will act to prosecute with full severity anyone involved in such activity.
