Cathy's diatribe is relevant to ALL crafters, and I'm right in that group. I knit and crochet, and I tell people that I'm a yarnbender for several reasons:
-it's been proven to reduce stress and lower blood pressure.
-It's a post-revolution/apocalyptic lifeskill.
-There's nothing quite like the joy of giving someone a gift you made with your own hands and seeing their delight at receiving such.
-I work retail, so a craft that involves string and pointy things takes the edge off and keeps me from actually strangling or stabbing people.
