起初微软联系到他，表示了对 AppGet 的兴趣，并准备雇用作者。在漫长的邮件交谈之后，作者并不清楚他将如何在微软获得怎样的职位，至于项目交接双方依旧没有达成共识。在此后微软再也没有联系过他，直到 WinGet 发布前夕，微软发邮件讲到 WinGet 即将发布，并在新项目中 “提到” 了 AppGet。 新项目发布之后，作者发现 WinGet 的原理、manifest 结构和目录结构和 AppGet 一模一样。他表示微软对整件事情的沟通速度、处理方式和态度令他非常不满。
