Chandigarh Mayor Election | 'Obvious That Presiding Officer Defaced Ballot Papers, This Is Murder Of Democracy' : Supreme Court βοΈ Article - https://www.livelaw.in/top-stories/chandigarh-mayor-election-obvious-that-presiding-officer-defaced-ballot-papersβ¦
After watching the video, CJI said that the Presiding Officer was seen making alterations in the ballot paper. "Is this the behaviour of a returning officer? He looks at the camera, and defaces the ballot obviously. Where there is a cross at the bottom (of the ballot paper), he puts it into the tray. The moment there is a cross at the top, the man defaces the ballot and looks at the camera. Tell him that the Supreme Court is watching him. We will not allow democracy to be murdered like this. The great stabilising force in the country is the purity of the election process," CJI said.

π₯ Delimitation Exercise - Harmonising Federalism and Democratic Principles Government is based on People with One vote having One value, that value is retained by Delimitation exercise but India's Position is different due to population explosion and population control measures during the past 5 decades leading to uneven distribution.
The majority should not overpower the federal character.
The Author in the last 2 Paragraphs have devised a formula of retaining the current seats and apportioning them according to population in MPs , increasing the seats in MLA's but not increasing in Rajya sabha (federal), because mainly the Work of Parliament is to make laws on Union list and check on Executive but schemes are implemented on states so increasing the seats of MLA's.
Read the Gist, Last segment and 2 Tables, if possible USA comparison.
