Cube had a meeting with 3 members from BMW headquarters yesterday(18-July) at Cube Intelligence Korea Office, and we had a very positive conversations on mobility data business and the autonomous vehicle project which Cube is researching at the moment. Since we decided to meet again when the results for our project are available, we believe that the follow up schedule is somewhat visible to some extent. This is all that we can give you all at the moment, but things are going very well :)!
For more details about this autonomous project will be revealed later.

CubeCar has decided to officially sponsor the Korean League of Legends professional e-sports team, Griffin!

Griffin is currently ranked number one in the League of Legend Korean league, LCK, and is likely to play in the World Championship, which is held annually. The World Championship is a contest with over 80 million live viewers worldwide (as of 2017).

We believe that CubeCar's targeted age group matches the League of Legend’s targeted age to some extent. The exposure of the CubeCar brand to the 80 million live viewers is highly promising in terms of expansion of brand awareness.

Cube's sponsorship to Griffin is valid until the end of 2019. During this period, Cube reserves rights to promote Cube using not only the uniform patches that the team wears during games but also the names of the team and players, and logos.

[Cube July Monthly Report]

Hello Cube Contributors,

This summer has been exceptionally hot. But as hot as the temperature was, that is how hot Cube was during the entirety of July. Nevertheless, we are working hard so that we can enjoy sweet fruits in the autumn.

Cube is always with our contributors.

Following is our progress for July.

July 9

At the TaaS (Transportation as a Service) conference in the United Kingdom (UK), Cube announced deals with leading UK automakers and mobility players. Richard Biggs, the CEO of Cube, received warm applause after the announcements.

July 13

Cube recently signed a sponsorship agreement with Griffin, currently the leader in the world's top game league, LOL Champions Korea (LCK).

The League of Legends (LOL) is the most popular game in the world; it has been selected as the model for the 2018 Asian Games. This league currently consists of 10 teams, including SKT, KT, Hanhwa, bbq and Jin Air. Currently, Cube's Griffin is in first place among the top 10 teams. Cube recently signed a sponsorship contract with Griffin, in effect until the end of 2019, and the Cube brand has been gaining visibility through the cubic car logo on the uniforms worn by the athletes.

Last year, hundreds of millions of viewers watched the World Championship for over 1.2 billion hours. More than 80 million viewers witnessed the Han Jung tournament, which was overwhelmingly more than the average of 18 million viewers who watched the US’s National Basketball Association (NBA) finals.

Griffin's first place on the current list will be a great opportunity to introduce the Cube to many people overseas.

July 15

The commercialisation of CUBE BOX and mobility wallet commences

The CUBE BOX can be easily mounted on a car, and the mobility wallet app can be connected to it for data collection and car diagnosis. Consumers are awarded Cube tokens through this box and mobility wallet. This token has made it possible tocommercialise a platform that can be used or sold in the future by car insurers, maintenance centres etc.

CUBE CAR announces a P2P car-sharing beta version

The CUBE CAR has released a beta version of the P2P car-sharing app. The CUBE CAR is made up of team members who have the most experience with launching domestic car sharing. In particular, more than 95% of today's cars are in the parking lot, and as a platform to share these cars, CUBE CAR can dispatch cars much faster with a much smaller budget than existing car-sharing companies that must purchase cars for their business.

A great Meetup was held recently with an introduction to CubeBox, the mobility wallet, and P2P car sharing.

July 17

Meeting with BMW for CUBE’s autonomous vehicle technology

Cube met with the team at BMW’s headquarters and BMW Korea. The theme was Cube's introduction to autonomous vehicle technology. BMW asked Cube to show them the results of their development of Cube's autonomous vehicle technology, which will be completed in October 2018.

Meetings held with EU smart city co-leader Jorge Saraiva and CEO Richard Biggs

이번 7월 큐브에서는 다음과 같은 progress 가 있었습니다. 

7월 9일

영국의 TaaS(Transportation as a Service) 컨퍼런스에서 영국의 주요 자동차사 및 Mobility Players 들과 큐브 사업발표. Richard Biggs 큐브 CEO가 발표를 하여 뜨거운 박수를 받았습니다. 

7월  13일

최근 세계 최고 게임 리그인, LOL Champions Korea(이하 LCK)에서 현재 선두를 달리고 있는 그리핀과 최근 스폰서십 계약을 체결했습니다.

리그 오브 레전드(이하 LOL)은 현재 전 세계에서 최고의 인기를 누리고 있는 게임으로 이번 2018 아시안게임의 시범종목으로도 채택됐는데요. 그중 최고 리그로 꼽히는 LCK는 SKT, KT, 한화, bbq, 진에어 등 총 10개 팀이 리그전을 벌이고 있는 가운데 현재 큐브의 그리핀이 1위를  달리고 있습니다. 그리핀 팀과 최근 2019년 말까지 후원사로 계약을 체결했고, 선수들이 입는 유니폼의 큐브카 로고를 통해 브랜드를 알리고 있습니다.

지난해 월드 챔피언십은 총 시청 시간이 12억 시간 이상, 총 시청자 수는 수 억 명을 기록했습니다. 특히 한중전이 열리는 경기는 한 경기당 8000만 명 이상의 시청자가 몰렸으며, 이는 미국 NBA결승전(평균 1800만 명)을 압도적으로 웃도는 수치입니다.

현재 1위를 달리는 그리핀의 성적은 해외의 많은 이들에게 큐브를 알릴 수 있는 좋은 기회가 될 것입니다.

7월 15일 

CUBE BOX 와 모빌리티 월럿 상용화 발표 및 상용화시작
자동차에 쉽게 장착할 수 있는 CUBE BOX 와, 이 큐브박스에 연동되어 데이터를 수집하고 자동차 진단을 할 수 있는 모빌리티 월럿앱을 출시 하였습니다. 소비자는 이 큐브박스와 모빌리티 월럿을 통하여 큐브토큰을 부여받고, 이 토큰은 향후 자동차 보험사, 정비센터등에서 향후 사용 또는 판매할 수 있는 플랫폼을 상용화 시켰습니다. 

7월 15일 

큐브카를 통한 P2P 카셰어링 베타 버전 발표

큐브카를 통해 진행 하고 있는 P2P 카셰어링앱의 베타버전을 발표하였습니다. 큐브카는 국내 카셰어링을 처음 런칭하여 가장 많은 경험을 가지고 있는 팀원들로 구성이 되어 있습니다. 특히 현재 차량의 95%이상이 주차장안에 쉬고 있는데, 이러한 차들을 공유할 수 있는 플랫폼이므로, 현재에 자동차를 구입해서 카셰어링을 하는 기존 카셰어링 회사들에 비하여 훨씬 작은 예산으로 훨씬 빠르게 확산을 시킬 것으로 예측하고 있습니다.

7월 16일 

그랜드 인터컨티넨탈호텔에서 Meetup

황기연 홍익대 (전)부총장 (전)교통연구원장, 팔로알토 네트웍스 최원식대표님, 미국 듀올오너 및 상장사 남성주식회사 윤성호 대표이사, 국내 최대 투자사인 인터베스트 이태용대표님, 협력사인 MG손해보험과 국내 최대의 정비체인인 마스터의 임원분등 외빈과 100여명의 게스트를 모시고 Summer Meetup 을 하였습니다.  

이 Meetup 에서는 큐브박스와 모빌리티 월럿, 그리고 P2P 카셰어링에 대한 소개가 있었습니다.

BMW와 자율자동차 관련 미팅

BMW 본사 및 BMW Korea 와의 미팅이었습니다.  주제는 큐브의 자율자동차 기술에 대한 소개 였으며, 10월에 결과가 나오는 큐브의 자율자동차 기술에 대한 내용을 함께 공유하기로 하였습니다.

Telefónica, the seventh largest telecommunications company in the world, has named Cube Intelligence as an accelerator finalist.

Telefónica is a global mobile telecom company with annual sales of 74 trillion KRW with more than 120,000 employees, with sales of about five times that of SK Telecom. Cube will announce the commercialization of CubeCar P2P car-sharing at the "2018 Sharing Festival (Seoul)" held in Seoul.

Cube team has been constantly communicating with the government departments. The relationship between the Government of Seoul and Cube has started in April when Dr. Bong H. Lee, CVO was invited to the city of Seoul and had speech about P2P car-sharing in front of about 200 related listeners. This led to the invitation to the 2018 Sharing Festival.
CUBE will position itself as a core technology company for autonomous vehicles and aims to be recognized as one of the best companies and tokens recognized globally as the true value of the cube token, which is currently undervalued.

P2P car-sharing is getting the hottest attention in the world ahead of the commercialization of autonomous vehicles.
Another European P2P car-sharing company, TURO has recently got $230 million USD invested, while GetAround in the US has got $300 million investment a few days ago. CubeCar will become one of these global P2P car-sharing services.

The first P2P car sharing company in Korea is created. P2P car sharing means sharing individuals’ cars, just as Airbnb is sharing a private house with guests. Not long ago, Softbank invested a large amount of 300 million dollars in North American P2P car sharing company Getaround, and Europe-based P2P car sharing company Turo also attracted 230 million dollars. P2P car sharing company is getting much interest from car makers. This is because the automobile market is expected to turn into car sharing in preparation for the eventual change of the automobile market into the autonomous car market. This means that a particular traditional car sharing company will not be able to clean or manage the car, and eventually the P2P car sharing company will take the lead in every car market.

Overseas, municipalities and governments also recommend P2P car sharing. It is a part of government and consensus that cars are now recognized as the main cause of fine dust and air pollution. To solve this problem, carsharing has been tried by multiple companies, but the pollution increased as the car sharing companies increased the purchase of new cars to share.

Currently, 95% of cars are not used in underground parking lots. Sharing these private cars can save a lot of parking space, and this space can be used as a green space to improve the environment.
