The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission plans to monitor DeFi. According to the regulator, the sphere still falls under the traditional definitions of securities trading.

"Make no mistake: many cryptocurrency trading platforms already fall under the current definition of an exchange and, therefore, are required to comply with securities laws. But these platforms behave as if they have a choice whether to comply with our laws. It's not like that"
