Edward Snowden, the former U.S. defense contractor whose leaks ignited a worldwide debate about internet surveillance, played a secret role in the creation of the privacy-enhancing cryptocurrency Zcash (ZEC).

Zcash has two kinds of transactions: transparent and shielded. The transparent ones are visible on the public blockchain, just as regular BTC transactions are visible on the Bitcoin blockchain. The shielded transactions, however, go into “privacy pools,” which you can think of as black holes where they all get swished together. These pools ensure that there’s no way for blockchain observers to know where the coins came from or where they go.

Since its launch over the weekend, the sneakers have been going for $7500 to $9000 (2.5 to 3 ETH). The digital vials used to change the appearance of the sneakers are going for a minimum of $2500 (0.8 ETH) as well. 

The collection consists of various sneakers, some more common than others. Some cryptokicks, equipped with rare skins, have sold for insane amounts. One pair with a neon Nike logo sold for $133,000 (45 ETH). Telegram took the first step toward adding crypto payments by allowing its 550 million users to send and receive toncoin within the messaging app, according to a Tuesday tweet.

🇩🇪 Germany Gets Friendlier For Crypto, Eases Staking And Lending Laws.

Germany has taken another step towards becoming a crypto-friendly country. The German Parliament in a roundtable on crypto taxation has decided to not extend the time period to 10-year for tax-free selling of crypto gains from staking and lending. Thus, Germans can now sell their crypto assets tax-free after 1 year of staking and lending.

The Federal Ministry of Finance in Germany has also announced the removal the draft law that required a minimum 10-year period for tax-free selling of crypto gains from staking and lending. A new crypto-friendly draft law will be in place soon.
