$1 billion in positions liquidated in 24 hours-that's massive.
Since October, the market has lost nearly half its capitalization - $2 trillion evaporated. Just in the last month-down $800 billion.
The situation is fueled by a massive outflow from Bitcoin ETFs: nearly $1 billion withdrawn in two days. Investors are panicking.
Bitcoin briefly plummeted to $60,000 on Friday - its lowest since fall 2024. It later recovered to $67,480, but still down 12% on the day- the worst drop since November 2022. Over the past six months, BTC is down 41%.
Interestingly, altcoin ETFs aren't faring as badly: Ethereum, of course, saw outflows, while XRP and Solana even saw slight inflows.
The billion-dollar question: is this a correction or the start of something bigger? The bottom hasn't been found yet.

They pumped on the promise of innovation. Most of them delivered nothing. No revenue. No adoption. No reason to exist.

BITCOIN FACES RARE START JANUARY RED FEBRUARY LIKELY RED
Bitcoin has never closed both January and February in red at the start of a year usually one month is green or both are green. But this time the market is very weak January is already red and February is also down a lot so it looks likely that February may close in red too if there is no strong pump near the end of the month. This could be the first time both starting months close red marking a very unusual start to the year.

From February 22 to February 27 Bitcoins active addresses went up from about 740K to almost 900K During this time Bitcoins price first dropped from 66K to 64K but then quickly rose to 68K by February 25 This shows that even when the price fell a little more people were using or holding Bitcoin From February 27 to March 1 active addresses stayed around 849K and the price moved between 66K and 68.5K showing both price and activity were steady As of March 2-3 Bitcoins price slightly went down to 66.7K but active addresses stayed strong Overall Bitcoins network activity is steady even when the price changes which is a good sign showing the market is active.
