BTC: 2026 bear market structure update
So far, everything is playing out according to plan.
That said, $BTC is holding up a bit better than I initially expected.
Even so, I still believe the market has one final leg down ahead before this bear cycle is over.
For me, that move should mark the last major phase of the correction before conditions start improving.

How do you quickly find where the on-chain action is?
Go to DefiLlama and check DEX Volume by chain.
Normally, Solana sits at the top. But if another chain suddenly overtakes it, or you notice a sharp spike in volume (just like we saw with Robinhood), that is usually where the attention and liquidity have shifted.
Then open DexScreener, select that chain, and start tracking the runners.
It is one of the simplest ways to spot where the current meta is forming before everyone else catches on.

Whales are loading up on ETH.
Three large wallets accumulated around $43M worth of $ETH today alone.
One withdrew $20M from OKX, another bought $19.1M through an OTC desk (bringing its weekly purchases to $52M), and a third swapped $3M worth of UNI into ETH.
As a bonus, someone also bought nearly $100M worth of $BTC through Galaxy Digital today.
Give the market a little green candle, and people rush to buy. When everything is red, they're too afraid to do the same.

Is the options market expecting a drop?
Normally, when traders expect the market to move higher, demand for call options increases and they become more expensive.
Right now, we are seeing the opposite: the market is rising, while calls are historically cheap. Their implied volatility has fallen to around 23% - an all-time low.
This does not necessarily mean traders are aggressively hedging for downside.
It simply shows that the options market does not believe in a strong upside move and is not willing to overpay for calls.
In other words, price is going up - but expectations remain very cautious.

MIchael Saylor on why Strategy sold $BTC.
"The market's position was the company is worthless. Bitcoin is going to zero because they can't sell."
"So we sold the Bitcoin at $59,000 and it traded up."

Over the past 30 years, the S&P 500 has continued to rise after reaching an ATH (All-Time High) in 13 out of 17 cases – gaining an average of +6.3% over the following six months. That is precisely what Wall Street bankers are pricing into their forecasts: between 7,900 and 8,100 points by the end of the year
1064 days of growth, 364 days of decline.
Every cycle has lasted exactly the same:
From the 2015 bottom to the December 2017 peak, 1064 days passed, followed by a 364-day bear market into the December 2018 bottom.
Then another 1064 days to the November 2021 peak, followed by 364 days down to the November 2022 bottom.
Bitcoin set its latest ATH on October 6, 2025 — exactly 1064 days after the November 2022 bottom.
If this pattern remains intact, the end of the bear market and the next bottom should fall on October 5.
Getting ready to buy.

👀 My BTC Outlook for the Next 2–3 Months
In July, we came close but ultimately failed to reclaim June’s high ($67.3k).
It would make sense to absorb that liquidity first, and only then move lower
(This isn’t a certainty, but it’s entirely possible).
It would also be good to test the 21-Week EMA again
$58k isn’t the bottom!
The final wave of this bear market’s decline is still ahead

👀 A whale opened a long position on ASTER with 4x leverage worth $4.3 million, plus locked up another $2.42 million worth of tokens for 4 years.
An interesting move—worth keeping an eye on. Especially since Aster plans to add a HIP-3-like feature on Hyperliquid for stock trading, and that’s where most of the trading volume is currently concentrated.
Plus, Binance itself has been actively building up TradeFi in recent weeks. It’ll be interesting to see if the ASTER token makes a move against this backdrop or not.
