Ethereum has two types of accounts:
Externally Owned Accounts (EOA)
• Controlled by private keys
• Used by real users (wallets)
Contract Accounts
• Controlled by code (smart contracts)
• Execute logic automatically
Unlike Bitcoin, Ethereum uses a balance model (like a bank account).
⛽️ Gas (Why Transactions Cost Money)
Every action on Ethereum requires gas.
Gas is:
The cost of computation on the network
Examples:
Sending ETH → low gas
Running a smart contract → higher gas
You pay gas in ETH.
Why?
To:
• Prevent spam

• Allocate network resources
