2026 is shaping up to be a year of market regimes, not simple direction.
This is a market that punishes overconfidence and rewards discipline: managing leverage, staying patient, and understanding liquidity matter more than any narrative.
We’re in an environment where liquidity behaves like a system of pipes — pressure shifts faster than headlines form. In these phases, Bitcoin acts less like a “legend” and more like the most liquid proxy for risk. Under stress, it’s sold first because it’s the easiest asset for instant de-risking.
That’s why BTC can underperform even during “risk-on” headlines when:
• USD demand rises (squeeze),
• carry trades unwind,
• capital rotates into trend leaders (metals/indices),
• portfolios cut risk and close leverage.
I’m watching three structural scenarios for 2026:
1) Capitulation → Base formation.
A flush, a volatility climax, then a long range and gradual bottom building.
2) Rallies inside a larger downtrend.
Sharp pumps, but every move becomes distribution as the market takes back what it briefly gives.
3) Macro shock.
An FX/rates/liquidity event accelerates deleveraging: price overshoots levels, correlations go to one, then a strong mean reversion follows.
Because of that, my mode is simple: fewer trades, higher quality.
I intentionally reduce exposure and wait for structures that actually provide an edge — because in years like this, capital is preserved by pauses, not activity.
