The Port3 Network ($PORT3) token experienced a severe crash (up to 90%) due to an exploit in its bridge system's "BridgeIn" function.
=> An attacker minted 1 billion unauthorized $PORT3 tokens.
=> Approximately 162.75 million of these were sold for about $120,000, causing the price to plummet.
=> The team removed on-chain liquidity and the attacker later burned 837 million of the remaining newly-minted tokens, allowing the price to partially recover.
=> The exploit was attributed to security flaws, including poor signature verification and an unverified chain record.
=> The team has indicated they were affected by a CATERC20 vulnerability and plan to release a new token to fully resolve the issue, but are still working on a full post-mortem analysis and recovery plan.
Port3 Network itself is an AI data layer that aggregates and standardizes Web2 and Web3 data to power intelligent services.
