'Tis the Sunday before Christmas and not a creature stirs....except for the crypto community who'll be joining our regular Crypto Club and Digial Assets weekly catchup on zoom!

So join us at 7pm (UK time) this evening - weekly Crypto Club and Digital Assets chat on zoom!

Open to everyone ....novices and experts alike, we hold these sessions every Sunday evening, 7pm - 8pm (UK time).  Topics discussed depend on who comes along but we often end up chatting about Bitcoin, blockchains, DeFi, Digital Identity, Metaverse, stablecoins, CBDC's, Digital Asset security and many other subjects.  Come and join in!

It's also an opportunity for anyone who'd like to give a talk (no powerpoints, slides or demos required!) for three minutes on their project / area of interest.  So if you're involved in a project and would like to share more then come along for one of the "Gone in 180 seconds" sessions.  It's really easy, you get three minutes to talk about the project....That's it.  No demonstrations, whitepaper reviews, etc.  But the audience (whoever they are) can then ask questions.  Bonus is that the entire session is recorded and published to Youtube,  so you can share the link for  a spot of post-pitch marketing.  Only request is no pimping / selling / promoting scams etc.  The idea is to share details about the project, not use it as a hard sell!

As we approach the end of 2025, it looks like the crypto market is going to record a small drop for the year. BTC started on $96.8 on Jan 1 and is currently $87.5k. So that's roughly a 10% drop. The overall marketcap of crypto has dropped £3.34T to $2.97T. Which is slightly more that 10%. Shows that BTC still has a major influence on the overall market.

Anyway, what better way to end the year to discuss this, and any other crypto stuff at the regular crypto club and digital assets weekly catchup on zoom. Starting shortly at 7pm (UK time) this evening!

Another fun session to end the year- this is the edited highlights! We covered many topics - blockchains, traceability, diamonds, Kimberley process, crypto loans, reverse mortgages, tax efficient spending/saving, IoT devices, darkweb "hitman" services, and much more! Premiering now. Watch it here: https://youtu.be/qNPEH-H2Vjc
Last year saw Bitcoin (BTC) lose around 10% value Jan 1 2025 - 31 Dec 2025. So far it has risen from $87,560 to $91,340. Which is a gain of 4% in just four days - not bad hey ? But, realistically, those who've been involved in crypto will know that these numbers are actually pretty meaningless. So what numbers are actually important / Crypto Market Cap ($3.12Tn) ?, daily volumes ? Number of wallets ? Or number of "Trust me Bro'" Meme coin launches ? Whatever the numbers are and whatever you think are important, the most important thing is 7pm (UK time) this evening as we kick off 2026 with our first of the regular Crypto Club and Digital Assets weekly catchups on Zoom!

At this week's Crypto Club and Digital Assets chat we took at look at some of the trends that may have a resurgence in 2026. Will it be stablecoin adoption ? Or could it be the re-appearance of the Metaverse ? Or new evolution in AR/VR headsets ?

Where else do you get to learn about Blackrock's stablecoin predictions and why (techie geeks look away now!) most end-users don't care about whether you're using layer-1, layer-2, Web2 or Web3 or whether it's running on BTC, ETH, ADA or SOL. They just want the experience to be easy, reliable and low-cost!

Another interesting conversation ranging from TradFi and the attitude of MLRO's in banks to crypto KYC and AML through to the continued shift towards stablecoin adoption (with a possible contender that may not be on everyone's radar). It's out! No, not the Epstein Files (although the crypto connection does get a mention). It's the latest Crypto Club and Digital Assets weekly catchup recording on Youtube. Crypto payments and taxation, real world assets and establishing a digital assets repository, Bitcoin and Ethereum price volatility, Fear & Greed Index, the impact of the US activities around Iran, what's happening with Gold and Silver and the latest news snippets about Ripple and much more. All covered in this week's session. Watch it now: https://youtu.be/Ox1FKLjQJk0
Well, never let it be said that crypto is boring! In the past week we've seen Bitcoin dropping from $80k to $60k and it's now rebounded back to $70k. The Coinmarket Fear & Greed index nearly fell off the clock when it registered an extreme fear rating of '5' at one point (now recovered "up" to 8!. All interesting stuff. Meanwhile on the AI side Clawbot/Moltbot )which we covered last week) evolved into a hackers dream with people providing system access to THE ai. What a great way to steal your crypto wallet private keys!

Starting in 45 mins, join us to discuss the above an anything else of interest in our online Cryptoclub and Digital Assets weekly catchup on Zoom at 7pm (UK time).

A session with a difference as we took a deep dive into Solo Automotive, a Canadian-based initiative about transforming mobility and the automotive business - with the aid of Bitcoin and Solana! A great session where we were joined by Solo's Will Fan who shared some of the details of the project. Not only does it make vehicle ownership affordable but you can pay for the vehicle with Bitcoin or Solana. Watch the recording of the session now at: https://youtu.be/z8NpD_-TO70
Last week we took a look at the transformation of cars and Mobility As a Service and heard from one of the firms leading a drive (pun intended) to pod-like single seater vehicles. The crypto connection was the ability to purchase/finance the vehicles with Bitcoin, Solana or stablecoins. A further extension was to tokenise ownership and introduce a fractional, RWA-style mechanism for vehicle sharing. In a previous edition we heard from a founder who is tokenising their (rare and valuable) cello and looking to extend into tokenising fractional ownership of fine wine and even trees! In other sessions we've looked at AI projects (and the impact of Clawbot!), the metaverse, NFT's and lots more. Every week is sure to be different!

This week's session is starting in 50 minutes, so join us to discuss the above an anything else of interest in our online Cryptoclub and Digital Assets weekly catchup on Zoom at 7pm (UK time).

Sometimes the most interesting and thought provoking crypto club and digital assets chats extend into the areas such as Agentic AI, edge computing and cyber security. This week was no exception as JT and I had a "Fireside Chat" style discussion that started with Xai/Twitter and quickly explored crypto payments and linking with Grok, Agentic AI, using Teslas as Edge compute resources for AI and much more!

The Middle East situation has rapidly escalated, leading to fears of oil price rises and increased freight costs as ships are rerouted to avoid the area (thereby adversely affecting the global economy). Currently oil is flagged as a strong buy. But the crypto market doesn't seem to be reacting in the way expected when there is so much real-world uncertainty. Perhaps a topic to discuss shortly as part of our weekly Crypto Club and Digital Assets chat in around 20 minutes time!
