What's the connection between NFT's, tokenization, crypto, Leonardo Da Vinci, a cello, fine wine, Donald Trump, a massive Bitcoin hack that nobody knew about and the UK FCA's announcement about crypto ETN's ?

They're all topics we discussed at this week's Crypto Club and Digital Assets weekly catchup!

Watch it now: https://youtu.be/9fyS7y3Fdww
Did you know that Ethereum has surpassed MasterCard in Market Cap Ranking ? ETH now ranks 22nd globally among top assets! Maybe we can discuss crypto adoption shortly?

Come and join us for the weekly Crypto and Digital Assets weekly catchup & chat.

Open to everyone ....novices and experts alike, we hold these sessions every Sunday evening, 7pm - 8pm (UK time).  Topics discussed depend on who comes along but we often end up chatting about Bitcoin, blockchains, DeFi, Digital Identity, Metaverse, stablecoins, CBDC's, Digital Asset security and many other subjects.  Come and join in!

It's also an opportunity for anyone who'd like to give a talk (no powerpoints, slides or demos required!) for three minutes on their project / area of interest.  So if you're involved in a project and would like to share more then come along for one of the "Gone in 180 seconds" sessions.  It's really easy, you get three minutes to talk about the project....That's it.  No demonstrations, whitepaper reviews, etc.  But the audience (whoever they are) can then ask questions.  Bonus is that the entire session is recorded and published to Youtube,  so you can share the link for  a spot of post-pitch marketing.  Only request is no pimping / selling / promoting scams etc.  The idea is to share details about the project, not use it as a hard sell!

Recording of the latest Crypto Club & Digital Assets weekly chat: https://youtu.be/UL66taKa0XY

We talked about scams, mining contracts, technical analysis, meme coins, blockchains and much more! Watch it now!
Companies now hold more than 1 million bitcoin, equal to about 5% of total supply, led by Strategy Inc. with 636,500 coins.
Corporate ether holdings have climbed to 3.2 million ETH, worth roughly $14 billion, with BitMine Immersion controlling nearly 1.9 million.
Solana is entering the scene, as DeFi Development Corp has accumulated over 2 million SOL, valued at about $427 million.

What impact does this growth of institutional holdings have on the crypto market ?

This week's Crypto Club & Digital Assets weekly chat is out - what's happening in the market ? Are we in a crypto winter or has the market evolved and we're experiencing a different cycle ? What's the impact of the Genius Act and will the growth in crypto market cap actually be just a switch of companies extending their treasury holdings to include exposure to crypto ? Are the Chinese innovating and what's the impact of the moon's eclipse on crypto ? This and lots more is discussed here: https://youtu.be/LRmtwrKEYkk. Watch it now!

This week's Crypto Club & Digital Assets weekly catchup was somewhat shorter than normal as I had earphone issues. Apologies to everyone who joined late and missed the session.

We did however have an opportunity to hear from someone who's developing a quantum resistant decentralised wallet. Fascinating topic. Watch now: https://youtu.be/r-uqlbT2Xdo

NOTE THAT THERE WON'T BE ANOTHER CATCHUP UNTIL SUNDAY 19TH OCTOBER!
Taking a break until 19th October but meanwhile here's the highlights of this week's discussion - including prospective blockchain use cases in media marketing, Agentic AI and a discussion about some of the recent AI trends such as MCP. Watch it now at: https://youtu.be/bwi3UVsKbk8
It's back! After a break of a couple of weeks which coincided with a "market correction" that led to a 10% drop in overall crypto market cap, we see the weekly Crypto Club and Digital Assets chat return this evening at 7pm (UK time)!

After a few weeks break we had an interesting discussion around blockchain innovation (or lack of), how the technology could be suited for Digital Identity and then whether a centralised Digital Identity scheme is a good or bad idea. The technology advocates can see the potential that linking together multiple data sources and services through a single identity scheme could offer some great benefits. Then there's the other side of the coin of the risks of cyber attack compromising identities and a scheme akin to China's Social Responsibility Index being deployed to control citizens. Ever watched Minority Report and the idea of precrime and how simply associating with someone could lead to the authorities putting controls on you or your family and friends. We mention where that's already being developed (clue: it's being implemented somewhere fairly close!).

Anyway, great discussion and you can watch it now at https://youtu.be/u01ZGQsdFLQ
Digital Identity schemes and whether blockchain-based platforms are on option was an interesting conversation at last week's Crypto Club and Digital Assets chat. And what's happening in the DLT/blockchain innovation space beyond tokenisation and crypto price speculation ? Let's see where the conversation goes this week - starting at 7pm this evening (UK time)!

Stablecoins, cross-border payments, international credit, eNaira, eRMB, Chinese-based payment systems, real estate tokenisation, cross-chain bridging and connectivity and linking with metaverses. What a range of topics - and then we talked about DAO's and the future state of autonomous vehicles and CZ's presidential pardon!. Fascinating stuff and worth watching now: https://youtu.be/ZXYc4iEqTbI
Interesting news that the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster collaboration in digital trade, e-commerce, innovation, and inclusive economic growth. DCO member states: https://dco.org/governance/#council-members. Could this see a growth in crypto/blockchain innovations ? Perhaps a subject for this week's Crypto Club and Digital Assets chat - starting at 7pm this evening (UK time)!

Whilst the markets are in the doldrums and crypto prices are languishing is there light at the end of the tunnel with multiple US crypto ETP's on the way ? Do we also need to think differently about the next wave of asset-backed stablecoins and how they could be used for settlements/payments systems. Meanwhile Apple Inc's market cap remains larger than the value of the entire crypto market. An interesting discussion (as always). Watch it now at: https://youtu.be/5xPAkC91M4U
All transactions would “eventually” run on blockchain rails, according to Standard Chartered CEO Bill Winters.

“Our belief, which I think is shared by the leadership of Hong Kong, is that pretty much all transactions will settle on blockchains eventually, and that all money will be digital,” Winters said Monday at Hong Kong FinTech Week. “Think about what that means: a complete rewiring of the financial system.”

Does this reflect a wider recognition in Financial Services of future adoption? Perhaps a subject for this week's Crypto Club and Digital Assets chat - starting at 7pm this evening (UK time)!
