Why Did BTC Hit SL Today? π
Todayβs BTC trade is a good example of why EMA confirmation is important β but risk management matters just as much.
BTC was clearly trading below the major EMA zones, confirming a bearish structure. The short entry was aligned with the trend, and BTC then made a strong move to the downside.
However, after the sharp drop, price made a short-term pullback before continuing lower. That retracement was enough to trigger our SL.
π The setup wasnβt necessarily wrong β the market simply made a normal pullback before continuing the trend.
The key lesson: donβt fight the trend, but also donβt place your SL too tight. Always give the trade enough room to breathe.

π₯ BTC UPDATE 17/08 β SHORT BIAS, WAIT FOR A BOUNCE TO ENTER
BTC is currently trading around 63.1K and has just made a strong bounce from the 62.7Kβ62.8K area. However, when looking at the M15 β M30 β H1 β H4 timeframes together, I still view this move as a technical rebound within the broader downtrend, rather than a confirmed reversal.
On H1 and H4, price is still trading below the medium- and long-term MA levels. In particular, the H4 MA200 remains above price and is sloping downward, indicating that sellers are still in control.
BTC is currently trading around 63.1K and has just made a strong bounce from the 62.7Kβ62.8K area. However, when looking at the M15 β M30 β H1 β H4 timeframes together, I still view this move as a technical rebound within the broader downtrend, rather than a confirmed reversal.

Therefore, do not FOMO into a SHORT at 63.1K. A safer strategy is to patiently wait for BTC to bounce toward 63.2Kβ63.4K. If we see a rejection candle or failed retest on M15βM30, we can consider triggering a SHORT.

πΉ Step 2: Price was rejected and moved back below the fast EMA (EMA20), showing that short-term momentum was changing.
πΉ Step 3: Instead of immediately recovering above the EMA20, price stayed below it. The EMA then started acting as dynamic resistance.
πΉ Step 4: This gave us further confirmation that sellers were taking control, increasing the probability of a move toward the next EMA/support levels.
