The two heads of state acknowledged the positive role of the China-US economic and trade consultation mechanism and the outcomes achieved by the economic and trade teams—including establishing and advancing mechanisms such as a trade council, reaching a reciprocal tariff reduction arrangement worth $30 billion, and extending the outcomes of the Kuala Lumpur economic and trade consultations—and instructed that these be implemented.
6. Cooperation between Chinese and US counter-narcotics law enforcement agencies has yielded tangible results. Recently, the two sides worked closely to jointly crack multiple cases involving new psychoactive substances and precursor chemicals, arresting dozens of suspects in both countries.
7. Both sides agreed to establish a China-US dialogue on artificial intelligence to exchange views on the risks and benefits associated with AI. The next dialogue will be held this November. Both sides agreed to establish a communication channel for AI-related incidents.
8. The US side welcomed the arrival in the US of the pair of giant pandas leased by China to Zoo Atlanta.
