The Hundred’s men’s and women’s wildcard draft took place on June 18 ahead of the 2026 season, which is scheduled to run from July 21 to August 16. The headline selection saw Pakistan Women’s captain Fatima Sana make history by becoming the first Pakistan player to feature in the Women’s Hundred after being signed by Birmingham Phoenix.

Sana fills the fourth overseas slot at Phoenix, replacing Lucy Hamilton, who withdrew to manage her workload. The Pakistan skipper will receive the competition’s minimum salary of £15,000. However, her participation could be affected by Pakistan Women’s tour of Sri Lanka, which is scheduled from July 23 to August 4 and overlaps with part of the Hundred season.

Sana’s signing means there are now three Pakistan players contracted for this year’s tournament. In the men’s competition, Usman Tariq will represent Birmingham Phoenix, while spinner Abrar Ahmed is set to play for Sunrisers Leeds. Their involvement helps ease concerns that Pakistan players might be overlooked following investment in the Hundred franchises by Indian ownership groups.

Elsewhere, Scotland openers Darcey Carter and Katherine Fraser earned opportunities with Sunrisers Leeds and Southern Brave respectively, both qualifying as local players. Among the notable men’s wildcard picks were London Spirit’s signing of Sussex fast bowler Henry Crocombe, recently called into England’s Test squad as cover, while MI London added promising pacers Eddie Jack and Seb Morgan. Southern Brave also secured England Under-19 quick Manny Lumsden, highlighting the competition’s focus on emerging talent.

England Women have announced their squad for the historic Women's Test at Lord's against India Women, set to commence on July 10. This is set to be the first-ever women's Test match set to be played at the historic venue.

Nat Sciver-Brunt is set to lead the 15-member squad in what will be her first Test as captain of the England team. All-rounder Alice Capsey and 18-year-old left-arm spinner Tilly Corteen-Coleman are amongst five potential debutants named to the squad, which also includes seamer Grace Potts, wicketkeeper-batter Ellie Threlkeld, and off-spinner Mady Villiers. Former skipper Heather Knight is set to feature in what could be her 15th Test appearance.

“We have selected a strong Test squad under the leadership of Nat Sciver-Brunt for what will be another historic few days at Lord’s for women’s cricket. Test cricket is a rare and wonderfully challenging experience in the women’s game and I know how proud our players are to represent England in this format. For the 11 women who will get the chance to be the first to enjoy that feeling at Lord’s, it will be a moment to savour," ECB’s Managing Director of Women’s Cricket Clare Connor said in an official statement.

England Women's last Test assignment came in late January of 2025, where they were comprehensively beaten by an innings and 122 runs by Australia Women in the first-ever Women's Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

The loss was the culmination of a 16-0 series whitewash by the Aussies, which brought about wholesale changes to the Lionesses, including the appointment of Charlotte Edwards as coach of the side, replacing Jon Lewis, and Knight stepping down as captain of the side, leading to the appointment of Sciver-Brunt as all-format skipper.

Top 3 best ODI knocks by Ishan Kishan
Kishan's excellent T20 form for club and country has also seen him get into the ODI team for India's three-match series against Afghanistan
📢Top 3 best ODI knocks by Ishan Kishan

Top 3 best ODI knocks by Ishan Kishan (Photo Source: BCCI)

In one of the more inspiring comeback stories in recent times, Ishan Kishan 's return to India's white-ball setup has been breathtaking to watch. After guiding Jharkhand to their maiden Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy title in early 2026, the left-handed batter has broken into the Men in Blue side and guided them to the 2026 T20 World Cup title.

Kishan's excellent T20 form for club and country has also seen him get into the ODI team for India's three-match series against Afghanistan. The southpaw has leapfrogged ahead of Rishabh Pant in the pecking order and is now the 50-over team's backup wicketkeeper after KL Rahul.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad batter does have the pedigree to succeed in ODI cricket, as is evident through some of his outstanding one-day innings in the past.

Here are the three best ODI knocks by Ishan Kishan:

3. 125 vs Afghanistan, 2026

Ishan Kishan (Photo Source: BCCI)

Ishan Kishan's most recent century against Afghanistan was also his second hundred in ODI cricket. A counter-attacking knock on a tricky surface, the top-order batter scored 125 off just 79 balls, striking at 158.22. He also forged a 224-run partnership with captain Shubman Gill for the third wicket.

Kishan was in total control of his innings and made the most of his legside strength, scoring 87 through the area, including five sixes. Nangeyalia Kharote, however, ended his innings in the 37th over with India already on 320 runs.

2. 93 vs South Africa, 2022

Ishan Kishan. (Photo Source: Pankaj Nangia/Gallo Images/Getty Images)

Nothing beats a match-winning knock against top-tier opposition at his domestic home. That is exactly what Kishan was able to achieve when he scored 93 against South Africa in Ranchi, where India chased down 279 to win the match by seven wickets.

The left-handed batter came in to bat at number three after captain Shikhar Dhawan was dismissed inside the first six overs. Kishan, however, came out and played an outstanding innings, hitting 93 from 84 balls, an innings that comprised four fours and seven sixes in total. He was later dismissed by Bjorn Fortuin after a 161-run partnership with Shreyas Iyer, who scored an unbeaten century and was declared Player of the Match.

1. 210 vs Bangladesh, 2022

Ishan Kishan. (Photo Source: BCCI)

Ishan Kishan rewrote the history books when he became only the fourth Indian batter to reach the hallowed double century in ODI cricket, after Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag and Rohit Sharma . In doing so, he also became the youngest double centurion in one-day history whilst also being the first player in the format's records to convert his maiden century into a double ton.

Kishan scored 210 in Chattogram off 131 deliveries whilst opening the batting alongside Dhawan, who was sent back to the pavilion for just three runs. It takes something extremely special to overshadow Virat Kohli's century, but the youngster was able to do exactly that. He scored at a strike rate of 160.30, hitting 24 fours and 10 sixes along the way.
📢Leicestershire batter Lewis Hill to retire at the end of the 2026 season

Lewis Hill (Photo by Stuart Leggett/MI News/NurPhoto via Getty Images)

Leicestershire batter Lewis Hill is set to retire from the professional game at the end of the 2026 domestic season. A one-club man, the right-hander first made his debut for the Foxes back in 2015 and has represented the county across all three formats of the game.

Over his more than 10-year tenure at the club, Hill has so far scored 8,434 runs across all formats. This includes hitting 5,291 runs in the County Championship and another 1,152 runs in the Vitality Blast. However, one of his best times in a Leicestershire shirt came during the One Day Cup final in 2023, when he captained them to their first List A title since winning the 1985 Benson & Hedges Cup.

"Leicestershire has been my home for such a large part of my life, so making the decision to retire has been incredibly difficult. I've been fortunate enough to live out my dream of playing professional cricket and to do it for the club that means so much to me makes me incredibly proud. There have been so many people who have helped me throughout my journey - teammates, coaches, staff and supporters - and I'd like to thank every one of them for the role they've played in my career. I've made memories that will stay with me forever. While I'm excited about the next chapter, my focus now is on enjoying every moment of the rest of the season and helping the team finish strongly," Lewis Hill said on Leicestershire's website.

Despite being in the twilight of his professional career, Hill still immensely contributed towards Leicestershire's promotion back to Division One of the County Championship. The 35-year-old was his side's top scorer during the 2025 County Championship Division Two campaign, where the Foxes won the title. He hit 917 from 14 matches at an average of 45.85.

Competing in his final County Championship season, Hill has still shown that he is capable of scoring in the top division, with 284 runs to his name from five matches. The right-hander recently scored his maiden century of the 2026 season, hitting 127 against table-toppers Essex in Leicester.

📢3 bold experiments India can make in the final ODI against Afghanistan

Team India (Photo Source: BCCI)

India have already taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match ODI series against Afghanistan. The Indian batting has been far superior to that of the Afghans, and the young bowling attack has also made a mark. With a lot of cricket coming up for the Men in Blue, including the T20I series in Ireland and England and the Asian Games competition, expect a few players to be rested for the third and final ODI, which will be played at the iconic MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Saturday, June 20.

Let's take a look at three experiments that India can do, which will give opportunities to certain players to showcase their skills at the international level.

3 bold experiments India can make in the final ODI against Afghanistan:

3. Unleash Harshit Rana

Harshit Rana.(Photo by Ayush Kumar/Getty Images)

Harshit Rana is all set to join the Indian team ahead of the third ODI. He missed the T20 World Cup and the subsequent IPL this year after undergoing knee surgery. As per reports, Harshit has worked very hard on his batting and when in rhythm, he can consistently touch 145 kmph with the ball. If the medical team feels he is fit enough to play right away, it won't be a bad idea to slot him into the playing XI. With all-rounders like Nitish Kumar Reddy and Washington Sundar already in the side, the Delhi speedster won't have to push too hard to finish his full quota of overs.

2. Give Nitish Kumar Reddy 10 overs

Nitish Kumar Reddy (Source : BCCI/X)

Nitish Kumar Reddy missed the second ODI due to a sore left thigh. If the Andhra Pradesh all-rounder recovers in time for the third ODI, he should return to the side, as he is high on confidence, having improved his bowling considerably in the last few months. After an impressive stint in IPL 2026, Reddy bowled brilliantly in the first ODI. His yorker to castle a well-set Rahmanullah Gurbaz could end up being the best ball of the series. If the 23-year-old is fit, he should bowl his full quota of 10 overs. India could also promote him up the order and let him showcase his batting talent in 50-over cricket.

1. Bring back Harsh Dubey

Harsh Dubey (Photo Source: BCCI)

Harsh Dubey was a part of India's squad for the one-off Test against Afghanistan, but Manav Suthar got the nod ahead of him. The left-arm spinner made his international debut in the first ODI against Afghanistan in Dharamsala. Despite bowling with a wet ball for most of his spell and having to deal with a rampaging Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Dubey made his mark. He picked up three wickets, despite conceding 47 runs in five overs. However, it was surprising to see him making way for Kuldeep Yadav in the second ODI. The inconsequential third game could be used as an opportunity by the Indian team management to take a look at the 23-year-old's skills once again and groom him for the future.

Durham have named a 15-member squad for their upcoming County Championship fixture against Northamptonshire at the Riverside, with England Test captain Ben Stokes returning to county duty. Stokes is in contention to make his third appearance of the season for Durham and could feature in his first match at Chester-le-Street since 2024.

The all-rounder’s most recent home outing for Durham came against Worcestershire last season, when he impressed with both bat and ball, scoring a half-century in the first innings and claiming three wickets. Head coach Ryan Campbell has otherwise retained an unchanged squad for the clash against Northamptonshire, who currently occupy second place in the Division Two standings.

Durham will be aiming to maintain their unbeaten start to the County Championship campaign. The side has collected four victories and 126 points from its opening seven matches. Batter David Bedingham has been a standout performer, scoring 677 runs to become Division Two’s second-highest run-scorer, while seamer Ben Raine shares top spot on the wicket-taking charts with 36 scalps alongside James Anderson.

“For us to win in three days [against Derbyshire] is outstanding – it’s shown the evolution of this team, when you talk about us trying to get back to Division One. The graft and the hard work they put in with the bat on a wicket that was tricky after losing the toss and being put in – we sucked up our egos, and every little partnership counted,” said Campbell as quoted by Durham cricket.

“And the way we went about our work with the ball was absolutely outstanding. We had constant pressure from both ends – it was awesome to watch. We’re in a good position but there’s a long way to go, and we’ve got another tough game coming up against Northants. But all I can say to Northants is that they’re coming to our hood,” he added.

Durham squad vs Northamptonshire:

Colin Ackermann, Kasey Aldridge, David Bedingham, Graham Clark, Alex Lees (C), Ben McKinney, James Minto, Duanne Olivier, Callum Parkinson, Matthew Potts, Ben Raine, Will Rhodes, Luke Robinson, Ollie Robinson (WK), Ben Stokes

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have no immediate plans to invest in franchises across overseas T20 leagues, according to co-owner Satyan Gajwani. The IPL champions are instead focusing on strengthening fan engagement and consolidating their position as one of cricket’s most popular brands.

In March, a consortium comprising the Aditya Birla Group, Times of India, Bolt Ventures and Blackstone acquired RCB for $1.78 billion, bringing an end to United Spirits’ long association with the franchise.

Several IPL franchises, including Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders, have already established a presence in overseas competitions such as Major League Cricket in the United States, SA20 in South Africa, ILT20 in the UAE and the Caribbean Premier League. RCB, though, appear content to take a more cautious approach before considering international expansion.

"Don't think we have any plans as of now. We're a bit ahead of ourselves as we're still focusing on closing the transaction and then thinking about where we're going from there. I think RCB as a brand is very centred around Bengaluru and around cricket,” said Gajwani as quoted by bdnews24.

Gajwani said the franchise's immediate priority is to strengthen its core operations and deepen engagement with its fan base rather than expand into new markets, although he acknowledged that RCB possesses significant potential to grow as a global cricket brand.

"The RCB brand warrants a global presence and that could be through other forms like academies that we could do on the ground, it could also be potentially through expanding into franchise cricket and other markets. It's still a little bit in the air to decide whether or not we want to do that,” said Gajwani.

RCB ended a 17-year wait for the IPL title by winning the championship last season and successfully defended the crown in 2026. Their women’s team has also enjoyed sustained success, lifting the Women's Premier League titles in 2024 and 2026. Gajwani said the consortium’s immediate focus is on strengthening fan engagement beyond the IPL’s two-month season and addressing the significant demand for tickets at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, which has a seating capacity of just 33,800.

"One of the issues we have is the stadium can only fit as many people and it's not easy to buy tickets for RCB games. So, hopefully, we'll find ways to grow the stadium and ways to bring more fans into it," said Gajwani.

Texas Super Kings (TEX) take on Seattle Orcas (SEA) in match No. 1 of the Major League Cricket (MLC) 2026 at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas on Friday, June 19.

Faf du Plessis-led Texas Super Kings finished second on the points table last season, only behind Washington Freedom. They won seven out of their 10 league matches. In the Challenger, they lost to eventual champions MI New York. The Super Kings would want to go the distance this season, and they have the team to do so.

Meanwhile, Seattle Orcas have made wholesale changes to their side after finishing fifth last year. They only managed to win three matches and lost seven. Only the Los Angeles Knight Riders finished below them in the standings. Marcus Stoinis will look to lead the Orcas from the front this year. He will be facing up against his former team on Friday.

Grand Prairie Stadium, Dallas: Pitch Report

The Grand Prairie Stadium is generally a great venue for batters. While the new ball can swing around for a few overs, once the shine is gone and the pitch settles down, batters can play aggressive shots even on the up. Chasing is the preferred option for captains at this venue. Nine out of the 15 games hosted by the venue last season in the MLC were won by chasing teams.

TEX vs SEA: Probable Best Performers of the Match

Probable Best Batter: Faf du Plessis

Faf du Plessis had a brilliant campaign last year in the MLC. The former South African captain finished as the second-highest run-getter, only behind USA captain Monank Patel. Du Plessis slammed 468 runs in 10 innings at a strike rate of 170.18. He will enjoy batting in Dallas as the ball comes onto the bat nicely. The veteran will look to get his team off to a fiery start.

Probable Best Bowler: Lungi Ngidi

Lungi Ngidi has vastly improved his T20 credentials in recent times, adding a deceptive slower delivery to his repertoire, which flummoxed many batters during the T20 World Cup and the IPL this year. The South African speedster will be one of the bowlers to keep an eye on in this tournament. If he is in form, he can make a difference for the Orcas.

ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam: Pitch Report

The ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam is one of the batting-friendly venues in the country. The red-soil wicket is flat, and the ball comes onto the bat quite nicely. The proximity to the sea means dew can play a significant role in the evening games. Bowlers can get lateral movement due to the sea breeze, and spinners can get grip off the surface. Multiple games of the season have seen games with totals over 200 chased and defended successfully.
