And when you’re presented an opportunity, when you’re thrown a rope in your time if need, you’d be better armed to discern its purpose - a means to salvation or a noose to end you.

John Obidi’s birthday, duh!

So for Night School - birthday edition, I’ve put together a not-so-concise episode for you.

French Philosopher Baron de Montesquieu wrote, “We receive three educations, one from our parents, one from our school masters, and one from the world. The third contradicts all that the first two teach us.”

Indeed, the world contradicts most of what society and academia teach us… especially on life and your place in it.

But the world teaches not quite like a library or educator would.

It does so like a genie, offering limited answers but only to those travelers who can fathom the right questions.

Therefore most of our successes in life will emanate from our capacity to ask the right questions - of life, of others, of ourSELF.

My capacity to ask better questions of my career life changed in 2013, when I came upon 2 books:

– The Four Hour Workweek by Tim Ferris
– The Suitcase Entrepreneur by Natalie Sisson

Those books showed me that the life of options that I’d envisioned was indeed valid.

And so the years that followed were full of experiments in the art of freedom - time, financial and location freedom.

Some experiments were simply lessons, while others paid off big time… and I’m privileged to say it’s been such a dream.

I’ve compiled some of these lessons for you in this special episode called “Creating a Life of Options”.

You see, too many people decide too late that they’d like to make certain destiny-sensitive decisions - relocation, entrepreneurship, career, etc… but their lives are not set up for it.

Not being able to discern the ever shapeshifting rules of the road, they make not only errors of omission, but errors of imitation as well.

There are some foundational steps that MUST be taken at certain critical milestones in order to brighten your chances at truly creating a life of options.

Deconstructing what that life looks like is a study in itself.

So I will be sharing some of these practical learnings with you, which cost me decades of trial and error, lessons that I lived through so that maybe some may not have to.

Please invite those at the formative stages of their lives as well. They will benefit too.

I'll make this one as family friendly as possible.
