Anthropic is forming a series of contingency plans for if AI technology causes the job market to crash permanently.

They believe universal basic income may be the only way to prevent societal collapse if unemployment hits "unprecedented" levels.

Visa has officially partnered with ChatGPT to give AI agents access to your credit card.

Users can now let ChatGPT autonomously shop for them with full access to their bank info.

Anthropic has indefinitely suspended access to its most advanced AI models, Fable 5 and Mythos 5, after receiving a U.S. government order based on national security concerns.

According to Anthropic, the order restricts access by foreign nationals, including foreign employees. Instead of introducing immediate nationality-based controls, the company decided to temporarily disable both models worldwide while it works to comply with the new rules.

U.S. officials were concerned about the models’ powerful cybersecurity capabilities and the possibility that they could be misused if vulnerabilities were exploited.

Anthropic says it is in active discussions with U.S. authorities and hopes to restore access in a way that satisfies security requirements, but no timeline has been provided for when Fable 5 and Mythos 5 might return.
